Alright. I give up. haha. I don't know how to install this thing. I followed the romba rear mount install video and after I take the stock one out, I can't put the hasport one in.

Do you guys have any tips or suggestions? My car right now is sitting on the quickjack.

So I had my front pipe out when I installed mine (Cusco, but don't think it matters) which gave a little more room to work in, but all I had to do was use a pry bar to rotate the engine forward a little and the bolts lined up and I torqued them down.

I think the cusco and other brands of rear mounts are way easier to install than the hasport. I'm wondering if i can even do this install without a lift (i only have a quickjack).

Watch the Vtec academy episode. He shows how to rock the engine back and forth to get the mount in. You’ll also need a lubricant

I figured how to do it. You need a lift for the 82a mount. With a home jack, there’s simply no space for any leverage to swing a hammer, rock the engine, and push the mount in. It’s fine.
Car will be going in for some suspension work soon anyways so we’ll just throw it in then.

First, make sure they sent you the right mount. I had trouble installing mine, and when I sat it next to the original mount, it was thicker. Turns out, Hasport assembled mine with the wrong aluminum parts. They sent me the right parts and I was able to get it installed. I used bearing grease on the bushing and helped “convince” it into place with a rubber mallet.

I used a rubber mallet to hit mine in place and then bolted it up. Took me 30 mins to install it was easy.

yeah mine is thicker than the original. Is it not supposed to be? i just figured since I ordered a more "aggressive" one that it'd be a bit thicker. Pictures for reference...

Hey - you can totally get that mount in with out having any special tools. I have the 62A mount but physically they are the same shape, just the polymer is a different durometer. And yes, the mount for all of their durometers is slightly thicker than the stock at the rear bolt. I did the install with just a floor jack and stands. You don't have much room to swing a mallet, but if you get some water and dishsoap as a lubricant it helps get the mount loosely in place. Get it closer to home with some moderate mallet swings. Then if you can get a guide pin or something in the rear bolt you can help to pry the mount rearward into place. It isn't fun but definitely doable. Good luck!

For me, the metal piece on the smaller end was wider than the original and physically would not fit in the bracket.

Yea I'm pretty sure I can get the mount in too if I had a 62A. The 82a is just a different animal. lol.

It's ok. I'll just get the mount in when the car goes in for suspension work. No biggie.

Hasport been kind of dropping the ball sounds like. I installed their FULL mount and the tranny side doesn't fit correctly. It contacts the tranny housing. I had to grind and round an angle off the bracket. They sent me a new one, but a different issue came up. The welded bushings/spacers. It may or may not be an issue, but the spacer is obviously out of alignment. I already modified my other one, so this one will sit for awhile. I told them about the hole problem and they said "we'll talk to our guys. Growing pains on a new product" I get it. No hard feelings.

OP, did you get it in. It's all about leverage and brute strength when installing mounts. There's actually a Hasport video on this particular mount if you search youtube. But, he has the car on a lift and did it in 10 min. It took me awhile too, but here's what i did on jack stands;

1. jack up the car and place on jack stands high enough where you have ample room to pull and enough for you to clock back your arm and give it a good wack w/ a dead blow.
2. use engine oil to grease the urethane
3. put in and align the mount the BEST you can to the rear hole.
4. Use a wooden or rubber pry bar. I used the wood handle of a hammer. Position your prying tool and pry against the tranny bracket that the mount bolts to. Pry and push the mount in position. In step 2 i said "align the BEST you can" If you pry and push the mount far enough, but find out the hole is not aligned, you're not going to get it out unless you got some leverage, like hanging your body weight. I wasn't able to get it out, but fortunately, i was aligned enough where i was able to stick a screw driver in the hole and move the mount enough where i can slide the bolt in.
5. once you get that rear bolt in, you should be aligned to the front and just torque everything.

If you get it align good and slides in right away, this can be done in under 20 minutes not counting the time you jack up the car. You'll know right away. The min you realize the bolts don't go thru and you're trying to move it, then you're screwed..:banghead:

The directions i gave are for jack stands obviously. If you have a lift, it's way easier since you have plenty of room for leverage.

**Aluminum is soft metal** Its very easy to mar, gouge and scratch it. Be careful using pry bar. Chances are, you're going to scratch it anyways. This mount has a pretty tight fit. Concentrate on the rear first before you try to center it on the tranny side. You guys will notice in the future these used mounts will be scratched up pretty good.

Good luck.

Not sure if you have fixed this yet but, all the mounts i have seen for the R have a light grey rounded compound I have not seen one with black compound. There is a guy selling his hassport 82A in the classifieds and it also has the grey compound does not lok like yours. Have you contacted Hassport to ask if it is the correct mount? I have the 70A and we changed it out in a garage with floor jacks just fine. little lube on the mount and a tap from a mallet and it popped right in. WE did have the car evenly jacked up though from both sides and not from just one side so there would be no twisting on the frame.

I'm the guy selling the hasport mount. LOL.

But yeah. Thanks though, we ended up installing everything. Honestly, just needed the car up on a lift. I just didn't have enough leverage with just a normal jack.
