There are a few larger turbo options out there, but the biggest bottleneck is there is no more capacity in the fuel system to get more HP out of the engine. That Intercooler is pointless when there is no bigger turbo options for the type r. I can believe that hasn’t happened yet. I am guessing because of the electronic dumb ass wastegate Honda decided to use is the number one reason there’s room in the front... just won’t say how
No, there still is. You want to strike a balance between capacity and HP goals, though. You can put too much IC on, in other words. I went PRL - it's affordable, fits perfect, easy to install, and significantly better than OEM, but not too much for my goals of < 375 whp.so there is no real advantage with a aftermarket cooler than oem for these cars?
No ECU should account for proper AFR.ok and upgrading a cooler wont effect afr ratio's ect i presume??? if someone could clear that uo for me
100% AGREED!!!! Been saying the same thing since I first saw the stupid stock turbo layout!I still don’t like the kit just looked at it they need to get the turbo over to the right when looking at the engine an idc if they have to put a weird bend in a pipe coming off the engine to the turbo an make the intake on the left... I know there’s room constraints on the left side for an intake but I wouldn’t mind paying if they would quite copying off Honda an there placement of everything an think outside the box if your going to butcher the car then go all the way.. to many companies taking easy ways out an then blaming it on we don’t wanna hack up the car... people who wanna mod also want it to work not just add another piece just to barely make it more efficient over stock. There’s a company not naming names but they have like 3 things out to try an battle temperature on the car an they don’t really do shit instead of just making something that 1500-2000 bucks that actually works... people are paying 1500 for a carbon intake I mean come on
