Question:
Does your HKS exhaust hanger come with HKS letter cutout plate or 3 circles? Mine came with 3 circles but in some pix I saw it comes with the HKS plate.
Mine came with 3 circles as well. I think the HKS letter cutout plate was on pre-production exhausts.

Man, I really like the sound of this exhaust, but I also really don't want to drop down to only 2 outlets. Has there been any word of a 3-tipped version of this?
Aftermarket exhausts that keep the three tips aren't even using it in the same manner as the OEM exhaust. See my drawing of the OEM exhaust below. If you prefer the three tip for aesthetics, then fine, but otherwise the three tips adds nothing. I personally like the two tip exhausts just because I think three is overkill.

it's nice for valved exhausts. keep the center valved and the outer 2 for when center is closed. I also think there's just too much space on the bumper cutout for 2 tips. subjective of course.

also the oem center exhaust does indeed go through and not closed like your drawing shows.

Yep, purely aesthetic preference in my case. I just love how distinct the three tips are.

It sucks that this is the only deep, non-raspy exhaust that I’ve found but it doesn’t come with the signature three tips.

Hey man keep the signature three tips and go with the Invidia R400. It's has a beautiful deep sounding tone and high-quality welding. Oh and yes there is some drone but I love it all.

I have to politely disagree. I found the tone of the Invidia exhaust to be notably higher than the HKS. Honestly, of the higher, raspier exhausts, I found that the Remus sounded the best. I think that the HKS exhaust's tone is in a category of it's own though. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

The Js Racing exhaust is one of my favorites. Have heard it in person on two different cars, revving and at WOT, and it sounds fantastic. ...but it's two tip.

It does not go through. I have been up close and personal on several of the OEMs and the center tip does not flow from the center muffler. That chamber is a dead end Helmholtz chamber.

EDIT: Added photo from another thread. The metal between the center tip and the center chamber is just for structural support.

yeah that's true. I forgot. When i was washing my exhaust tips and was blasting water through it, i remember it coming out the outer two when i blasted the middle so it has a split there.
