Hypothetical question.....
If you had went to your dealer, looking for a type r to buy, and they told you how in luck you are because the badge number says 00001, but that it will cost you extra.....how much extra would you ACTUALLY have paid them ?
I'm not talking about "Oh man! I wouldve paid a million dollars for that!" Ummm no, you wouldn't, because most likely you don't have anywhere near that to spend.
What would be a reasonable extra charge for #1 that you wouldve said yes to and actually were able to afford ?
OR is the number even a concern at all for you ? Maybe you could care less about the number. Maybe you haven't even noticed what number you have and don't really give a hoot.
I'm gonna say I would've put in an extra $5,000 for the number 1 badge, given that the price for mine was an insane $42,000. Thats probably the most I was able to afford at the time. But if I did have #1 I most likely wouldn't even drive it, but store it somewhere, which would suck.
So hey, what do y'all think ?
How much is #1 worth to you and how much extra could you have actually spent on it ?

It was auctioned off for $200k. I won’t pay anything over MSRP personally.

people still care about getting a badge #?
I'd pay nothing extra for a badge #1.

I'll take a badge # in the 6 digits if it means a lower price though.

I would have passed on it. Owning the car was what was important to me not the badge number. If I could have got #1 for MSRP than sweet if not no big deal

Ok ok some discussion opening up here great !
So far:
1 crazy (me) would pay an extra 5g's
6 rational people would pay close to zero extra
Some could care less about the badge altogether
Anybody else ?

I think having #00001 would be a burden if you did anything with it other than keeping it inside a vacuum-sealed display case. Imagine being the owner of the first production 2017 Type R and having any imperfection at all on the exterior or interior.

At the height of the type, I would probably pay that extra $5k.

Yeah it would totally suck. You couldn't mod it. You couldn't beat it up/push it to it's limits. I sure as hell wouldn't let my ex gf anywhere near it (messy eater). And yes any scratches would absolutely drive me insane. Plus I'd have to buy another car to drive around in lol
