I got love tapped by an uninsured drunk driver, I don't want to file a claim with my own insurance as my rates will go up even though I won't be found at fault. Is it possible to just replace the outer panel or am I looking at an entirely new door. It's a small (honestly barely noticeable) dent, but due to it's location (right on the crease near the door handle) I won't be able to pull it out, and it ruins the body lines of the car. There was a smaller dent in a more repairable place but I was able to pull it out.

Additionally, got my rear quarter panel scraped up pretty bad, anyone have a link for touch up paint? It's down to the bare metal.

From experience, I filed a claim with my own insurance carrier (State Farm) for an uninsured hit and run basically, was able to get information from the police since the driver at the time lied about having insurance and drove off. Rates did not go up, however I have not made any previous claims before so this may have played a factor. If it helps I have about 12 years experience of driving according to my policy information and have been with them since 2014. I would ask the rep or your agent to see if rates would go up if you pursue this claim and if can, get it in writing that way you can dispute it if the rate does go up.

the damages aren't that severe that would warrant a change of doors. everything is repairable but would probably cost you between 900-1400. hope this helps in your decision to file or not.

I don't see a dent in the metal, just paint work that got messed up. I want to say, you can get maybe..70%-80% out by just wet sanding and polishing the area. Yeah, that doesn't warrant a new door panel, I'd be more concerned about the quarter panel though.

Did you replace the door?

My idiot neighbor backed into my parked Civic and messed up my passenger rear door... I don't have full coverage.

Estimates quoted anywhere from $800 to $2,000.

I found a color matched door at a salvage yard for $500 and I'm considering simply replacing the entire door. I can move the inside panel if need be, plus the window is already tinted 5% like my original door.

It doesn't seem too difficult...

So I was a mechanic for 8 years before I became a mailman lol buuut swapping doors is not hard but make sure the line up properly to close is frustrating by yourself and make sure the sales codes are similar but doors are easy

Lol so my step mom backed into the front passenger door. I'll just live with it.

The drivers side looks good still lol
