I just installed the Spectre SRI on my car. Install was fast and straight forward. I had the negative battery terminal off during the install. I go and start the car, it starts but only idles for 5 seconds before shutting down. Advice?

Make sure you plugged the maf back in correctly and didn’t knock anything or disconnect something else important. Also do another battery disconnect to reset again.

If it a manual make sure you're pressing on the brake pedal before you push the start button or turn the ignition on. I made the same mistake myself a while back after disconnecting the battery and found the solution after scouring the owners manual. I never use the brake pedal when starting the car normally.

thinking about getting this SRI, hows she running still?
If you want sounds then a SRI is good, if you want power stay away from it. You’ll only make power until it begins to get heat soaked (which won’t take long in these engine bays). Once it’s heatsoaked your engine pulls timing because of the intake air temperature being high as hell, and you’ll actually be losing hp. If your get a SRI at least get one with heat shielding to protect it somewhat

If it's the same Spectre one then it has the forward facing shield locking off on 4 sides.

I was speaking more in a general sense of SRI not this specific one, didn’t want to come off as me hating on a brand lol
