LX-P is the best trim. Here's why.

I bought a hatchback sport. I wanted a Civic that was visually distinct from most without having to put money into mods. An Si was out because I don't like driving manuals. I like and prefer leather but a Sport Touring was out of my price range. I got what I needed and most of what I wanted. The Civic has a stacked product line with something for just about everyone.

Nice man, looks great!

I love the hatchback sport. I think it looks like a jet fighter or something round the back, even though most people don't like the rear end. I also love the back side of my coupe, with some comparing it to the crosstour haha

$8K for a mechanic special could really be a raging deal.

I feel like generally the forums are harder on folks showing excessive love towards Civics and blind disdain towards it's competitors. There's a lot of great cars out there... and I think the Civic is towards the top of the heap at it's price point... but there's a lot of other great cars out there.

Like I told my wife once... "The world is filled with beautiful women... and I can't kill them all for you. I can just tell you you'll always be a 10 to me... even when we're old and gray and no one else wants us."

The list of options on that LX-P is head and shoulders above a regular LX (which is, itself still a decent value).

Yeah. I thought I was there with the bigger brakes, adaptive suspension, LSD, 9 vane turbo and all that jazz. It's very subjective. I didn't even really look at any other trim, from LX to touring and they lacked these features.

My feeling is the touring is starting to encroach on the Accord price point to where it's value is a bit lost for the premium features that (I think) it lacks. EX-L, Si, EX, LXs and any other weird flavors in-between seem a good value. The CTR is also a good value if your looking to roll the capability of a track car that can hang with models causing several times more in a livable daily driver, though if you don't need rear seat room and tracking is limited, I'd probably just go with muscle car for the greater power and straight line at sub-interstate speeds... but that's just me.
Haha thanks for your input. I may use that one on my wife. I was looking for a new Japanese branded car

However, growing up my family had owned 5 Hondas, one with nearly 400k miles on it so II really wanted a Honda. Maybe I'll put 380k on this one.

I think the coupe is a good looker for sure. I've said in the past, in the why isn't the coupe popular thread, that I almost test drove one. I couldn't because I knew I'd leave with it instead.

Waiting for the inevitable "Canadian LX is basically Si" remark.

Exactly haha
Not quite, but the Canadian LX Hatch is closer in equipment/comfort level to the US EX Hatch rather than the US LX or Sport hatches. Plus, we get the 6MT on the LX here, with the heated seats, mirrors, CarPlay, Android Auto and the 7" TFT, so... C'mon Swindon, where the heck is my LX Hatch!!! (apparently being built next week!) :drive:

I don't care about push button start or Passive Keyless Entry. Just makes it easier to steal the car using a relay attack. Unfortunately you cannot disable PKE in the Civic like you can in some other cars. What I do want are power front seats on both side that are at least 6-way adjustable. Both driver & passenger should be comfortable. Unfortunately Honda doesn't offer a power passenger seat with a height adjustment on any of their cars including the top of line Accord Touring. I would have bought one otherwise. I have a Civic EX-L so at least one of us can be comfortable.

Grumble, grumble.

That's a sweet trim you guys have. Are dealers in Canada willing to negotiate on pricing?

Actually, I bought my car with cash. Own it out right. Smells like debt to me on this website
I financed my Honda for %1.99%. My savings account offers 3.10%. I would've ripped myself off if I paid with cash. Nothing wrong with debt.

After a while, most of the "My choice is best" threads are kinda useless, we are all aware of the various strengths & weaknesses of the different trims, and endless discussions of justification of choices is largely a waste of time.
Consider:
Choose what works best for you, hopefully within your budget.
Buy once, cry once.
Color is subjective and personal.
If you prefer a stick, buy one.
I'll celebrate your choice, celebrate mine if you wish.
If price is your guiding light, just go there, you don't have to justify it.
A discussion of the various pluses & minuses of a certain model & trim can be interesting.
Everyone has a "Wish list" for things that were included/omitted their choice.
If you need help/advice, it's here in abundance, just ask.
Play nice in the sandbox, share your toys!

Perspective: I'm 71, been there, done that, made a lot of mistakes, that's how you learn!
