That is good for you that you can get them cheap, but almost no one else on here has that advantage. So I suspect that people care about making a comparison based on what they will pay, not what you will pay. Your great deal is meaningless to them.

FWIW: Rahal has NSX wheels listed at $760 each, and are the only company I can find claiming to even have them for sale. That is the price that anyone not working for Honda needs to be using to make a comparison. Makes $400 shipped for FK2s look like a really good price.

my apologies i miss rememebred my price. (facepalm) cost im looking at about 520is!

basically the same as you can buy them online elsewhere. I think I was thinking 200 from the set of konigs i just ordered. Not DS legal but DD wheels.

That sounds more realistic. And makes them more than the FK2 wheels, if the price I was given is accurate.

There are 4 different part numbers there, do you know the difference? Maybe color?

The set i am looking at is part# 08w19-t6n-200b a gloss black option wheel. as long as its the 5 split spoke design i think its just color. also keep in mind some year have different part numbers for some reason.

FYI the 275/19 BFGs are now listed on Tire Rack. I have ordered a set so I guess at some point there will probably be some comparison at a T&T, at this rate though I have no idea when that is...both me and my codriver are gone for vacation on 2nd half of May which tend to be the T&T season around here(either SVR at Oscoda or Indy/SBR at Peru). The latest I can see that happen might be the Detroit region Oscoda event in early July....

This season will be kind of a mess....sigh

And they showed up yesterday....I guess I'll report on them probably in June since I feel like that might be the earliest I might use these...gives me 3 months to struggle with mounting them...

We did our first NW event last week, with early runs in below freezing temps. On sticker RE71s, with my favorite ditch right next to the course, had to be careful the first couple of runs. But man I do love the car even more now. After 8 runs it was still laughing at me. This is going to be a fun season!

Not taunting, honest. I'd be on a plane to somewhere warm for a fly and drive if I had to wait too much longer!

I’m wondering what a good starting set up would be (this is my second year in auto-x)? Probably going to go with a square setup for longevity. 255/35? 265/35 or 40? What advantage does the bigger sidewall provide with 40 over 30, if any? Sorry for the newbie questions. Thanks everyone.

In some cases you might choose a taller sidewall for gearing purposes but CTR isn't limited by second gear in any real way. A 255/35/19 should be easy to mount and will give you a nice crisp feel.

Another newbie question (sorry everyone)...

I’m trying to figure what tire PSI to start from (meaning, a good street pressure), so I can work from there on a good auto-x pressure. I figured this out pretty well last year with the oem setup.

I went with 255/35/19 for my new setup.

Is “calculating” the best street pressure as simple as looking at the label on the door?

Or, do I also need to take the original tire/wheel size and volume and new tire/wheel size and volume into consideration? If so, is there a resource for calculating this? Like an online calculator or formula?

I mean, I could just ask what you all run for PSI on the street and for auto-x (feel free to share too!), but I’m trying to learn more too (teach a man to fish?... lol).

Thanks again in advance!

Doesn't hurt to be lemmings in figuring out what pressure to run if you have no experience with the particular type of tires. Collective knowledge out there on the current 200TWs are very extensive for the types of cars, fitment, sizes...etc.

I started on my Bridgestone with how I ran the same type of tires in similar pinchy fitment on my GTI. So that means 32/32 front and rear. With my reverse staggered fitment currently though I am finding I need to calm the rear down a lot more so I've been running closer to 32/29 f/r.

I don't chalk my sidewalls, which is the normal method, btw. You put thick chalk mark on several spots from the outside of the tread to where it meets the sidewall, the observe how much of those marks disappear, that tells you how much the tires are rolling over. If it gets all the way to the sidewall, add more pressure. If its not using enough of the tread, reduce some pressure. This is good for tire life and a good general gauge, but at least in the past for me I am more willing to trade tire life(especially on Street class car where you don't have the tool of adding more camber to also combat wear) for more grip.
