Hello Everyone,

Glad to be a part of such an amazing forum. 2018 Civic SI is my first ever car (6 months old Lease), I am glad that I did not go for a Prius, and this is my first ever post on this forum (didn't want to be regarding a problem though ;)).

Last weekend some person in the Costco parking lot dinged my rear right passenger door really bad. I was left unsettled after noticing it.

Any thoughts on what should I do!

Thank you in advance...

It’s a lease so when you turn it back in they may charge you for it, I would find out if you need to fix it or not per the lease. If not I would just leave it since it’s a lease.

if you didnt get the FULL dent, ding, dash package with your lease you might be out a few bucks when you turn the car back in. ive never leased a car so not sure what it would cost you out of pocket for something like this when you turn it back into STEALERSHIP

Is the paint cracked? If not, get PDR, you'll never know it happened if you find a good one.

If the paint is cracked you are out of luck.

Sheesh, that's a pretty bad dent. I understand 'never assume malice when incompetence will suffice', but that almost looks intentional... Good luck getting it fixed!

That thought did cross my mind...
Well thanks, everyone, I will check with the StealerShip and see what's what...

Ugh. God I hate seeing things like this. What is wrong with people? Anyways, looks like you got some pretty good advice. Good luck with the repair.

I would wait to tell the dealer, take it to an shop get them to fix it and dont tell anyone....the dealer might want to A. charge you more to fix it or B. now that you told them they will be looking for the area you got dinged and might say it wasnt repaired to their standard on lease return........

Looks like some good paint transfer there, if thats the case then they will be able to remove the scratch by paint correction and then remove the dent, like was said above you wont even know it was there after the job these guys are magicians

good luck

That looks fixable, IMHO. I had a similar issue in almost the same spot, and they got it out. Pictures are in my ownership thread:

I would recommend addressing sooner than later while the wound is still fresh. Check Yelp in your area for businesses that have both high marks and extensive reviews. Maybe consider picking up factory touch-up paint as well. GL.
