its my thinking that the ones who think the tiniest things will total their car are the ones who really dont want that car anymore.

an accident is their way out of the car they dont love anymore.
I think it's more an understanding that a lot of cheaper frames can be ruined with relatively small bumps.

By the pictures looks like a few minor tweaks will get your car back to live again.

Explain how this frame is "cheaper".
I don't find it to be. However a lot of late 80's to early 2000's cars had some pretty low frame quality. usually with extreme economy vehicles. One small rear end would twist a frame. I think now-a-days people are concerned about the horror stories that they've heard and worry that small damage which is easily repairable would result in a totaled vehicle.

Trust me, if this Touring were to get totaled. I'd turn around and buy another one.

P.S. I'm just gonna take this chance to rant a bit more lol, with the amount of dumb drivers and pot holes in my area, it's almost not worth it to have nice things....lol
Can’t agree more

Hope you are alright ?
Everyone was totally fine. She took the hit at about 50 when someone cut in front of us and went to a dead stop when we were approaching some morning traffic. That's Houston for ya.

That picture is about $16.5k worth of damage.

I'm sure Houston's driving isn't as bad as it is here in upstate NY. Waay to many distracted drivers.
Glad your ok!

Soooo true about upstate NY driving! Just drove up to Canada yesterday, and I was about to go crazy!!! Is there a NY State law that states the first car stopped at traffic lights has to wait 15 to 30 seconds before they move? Just asking for a friend :) BTW, I have driven in Montreal, Boston, Chicago and even worse, Southern Europe, so I am, let's say, intimately familiar with bad drivers of all sorts... I'd take more aggressive drivers to the distracted or too timid ones, however, if I had to make a choice... ;)

Oh my God, tell me about it. Almost every day of my commute there's at least one stupid car to ruin my day.
I go up to Canada twice a year and Canadian drivers are way better! They actually push the pedal to the metal! :)

By the looks of the car from your pics and your description, I'd say a definite no.

Hey guys, I'd like to give an update to this post. Turns out it wasnt totalled and it cost about 8k for the damages. But hold your horses for this part... the dealership that fixed the car is Paragon Honda in Woodside, NY. They offer a valet service which they deliver the vehicle to your address instead of you having to come pick it up. I live kinda far so I said ok. While waiting for my baby civic, I got a call from the dealership saying that the car was rear ended while it was on it's way to me....

I'm just at a loss for words...
