I got the oil changed for the first time and the dealership told me they couldn't put my car through the car wash because they did it before with another CTR and it got hung up on the wing. Has anyone else run into issues with car washes due to the wing?

I wouldn't put any of my vehicles through a touch car wash, never mind let a dealer wash it lol. I would go to a touchless and you wouldn't have to worry about it getting hung up on anything, or anything touching and marring up the paint for that matter.

If you want swirl marks, let the dealer "wash" your car. I ended up with swirl marks on my WRX when I made that mistakes the first time.

I told them not to touch anything for delivery even though they tried insisting on washing it, if you want things done right do it yourself.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone but yourself. My car had 7 miles and they had washed it after the PDI. I had a ton of swirl marks. I drove the car from the dealership to the shop where I was getting ceramic pro done. I needed 2 Step correction.

I had the same thing happen. My car is now two years old and is starting to have some minor swirls which will need some attention soon. the rear bumper is my worst spot for scratches/swirls

AGREED, no one washes my CTR but me...a car wash will inevitable put swirl marks throughout the paint. Plus the the materials used, be it soft blanket or those rotating bristle, are dirty from the hundreds of cars before you. I can barely let a dealership change my oil without completely worrying. Bottom line, WASH IT YOURSELF and take pleasure in getting to know your vehicle...she has some amazing curves.

Have never put my CTR thru a car wash, but I often would with older cars. For some bone head reason I decided to buy a monthly pass to a car wash after I bought my '19 Si Coupe. Ended up damaging the front bumper about 3 weeks later during a wash. Car wash was good about it and paid for the repair. $500 later and it looks new again.
No automatic car washes unless they are touchless!

Ah F*** it. I live in Michigan... and it's my daily. I straight take that thing once a week through my local wash that has a monthly plan. Works well enough. I will say this... I have paint protection on the front and I did my own ceramic. I'm sure most of that has been ate off by the acidic nature of those washes... but truly the car still looks fantastic after a full winter of salt and car washes!

I find if I do not let the car get too dirty, cleaning is quick and easy.
I use a hose in the driveway to hose wet it down, then a Foam Cannon.
After that, use a wet Microfiber cloths to loosen any stubborn dirt.
As long as the cloth is lubricated with the foam, it should not scratch.

Hose down again, and Blow dry with an electric leaf blower.

The drying takes about 1/2 the time, but it is touchless, and as the beads of water blow off, it is very clear where the protective coating is loosing it's beading power.

Watching all the water come out of all the cracks and crevices is re-assuring, that no water remains in those places to cause potential damage.

I am not looking for a Show Car finish, but I very much like that there are no swirl-marks developing in the paintwork, by using this method.

I found this micro fiber brush at Walmart. It fits into the wheel well perfect to get the break dust off. After I wash and rinse the car, I pour distilled water over the car. It disperses the little beads of water off of the car and then I blow it with the leaf blower. Zero spots!
