Just an update from Evan at South Hills Honda (Pittsburgh), we are expecting and Black CTR to arrive April 10th-14th. As I am sure you have seen on the forum we only sell at MSRP no accessories or dealer mark up and have made a ton of people on the forum happy Type R owners! Any questions or concerns please contact me directly [email protected] or 724-941-9100 ext112. I will update the post when the car arrives! Thanks!
Do you guys ship to FL? My brother might be interested, also, @coopermidnight I know is looking for a black one
I swear my heart grew three sizes when I saw these two posts last night. The past few weeks of R-shopping have fueled my apathy to unhealthy levels, and I've felt like I'll never want to talk to another salesman in my life after I finally get the car. Now I find one interacting with the CivicX community to get his MSRP cars off the lot, and @windjunkieproductions is throwing up the bat signal for me. You guys have restored a little bit of my faith :D I reached out to Evan via email! We'll see what happens.

fyi SAN DIEGO. DCH mission valley selling a 2019 CW for MSRP. I purchased mine here and my dealer follows up with me when he gets new ones in. His name is Sean Sailes. If anyone is interested tell than Jared from the forum referred you and they should cut the BS and games. Hope this helps someone.
Yeah, just checked their website. It's there. Good luck SoCal buyers. Please report back on your buying experience.

I bought mine at MSRP from AutoPark Honda in Cary, NC, and the dealer there said the owners of the dealership refuse to ever mark-up any car. So if anyone is near NC, I highly recommend this dealership. Everyone there was basically high-fiving me for the purchase and laughing and smiling with me the whole time about how awesome the car is. It was great.

I finally got the accessories list from my dealer. Burns Honda in NJ sold me a 2019 Red CTR for 36,620 plus a mandatory $3,365 vehicle enhancement kit consisting of:

01. High walled winter floor mats.
02. Window etching.
03. Cargo trunk net.
04. Exterior Bottom Door Chrome Accents
05. Door sil light up “R” logo.
06. Car Cover
07. Wheel Locks

The $3,365 of Honda extras includes dealer installation and brings the price to 39,985. OK, sure I get it, they need to make some money on a hot car and they don’t want to jack up the price, but let me pick the extras as I find this selection questionable. For item 01 I find I never really use winters mats honestly (I just keep replacing the carpet mats) but I guess most like them, 02 is good for insurance rates so OK, 03 seems like a handy item to have, I had them take number 04 off the car completely for no return (to be fair they are ruined upon removal) as they made the car look worse, 05 is totally wanted and is an amazing item, 06 naaaa I never use them, and 07 are you kidding these locks are useless as thieves have the keys so just buy RimLox if you want your rims to not be stolen (expensive but worth it).

However, as I said, they gave me a good value for my 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T Manual tade in, helped me get a better interest rate, and at least I got something for the extra money spent over MSRP, even if I’m stuck selling the winter mats and a car cover lol. In fact, having to sell the rims / tires because Honda made questionable daily driver usability rim / tire choices is honestly the very worst part of this purchase. I didn’t have this problem with any Si I’ve owned. I just upgraded the rubber and kept the stock rims. Then again, for the same amount Burns Honda charged me for the extras I could have bought the rims / tires. Between the two pricing drawbacks it’s a net loss for sure, it’s basically the cost of entry Honda and the Honda dealers set up for me in my area.

To be honest, to get out of that Accord I would totally do it again. And I needed the credit I gained from the Accord payments to get the CTR approved. There really was no easy way for me to get into a CTR unfortunately. But now I finally have the CTR, it’s a far more collectible car, and it’s basically my dream car. So there’s that. In the end, I’m not sure Burns Honda belongs on the pure MSRP good list, but they don’t belong on the bad marked up list. Is there a medium list? Like the Medium Place on the TV show The Good Place?
I saw that car and was on the fence. Luckily they had a CW one in the bay that they didn't get to put all the stuff on. Bought mines 2 weeks ago. Enjoy guess I'll be seeing you around.

I do like red better than white. And I should have drove to that Pittsburgh dealer for that Black CTR (my second fav CTR color) from what I just read a few posts back. However, In the end, I can’t complain too much. I now have a 2019 volume knob ladden Type R Hatch which is what I wanted since my 2004 Si Hatch. Plus, I didn’t want to spend another day in that 2018 Accord Sport should it’s value continue to slide out of my favor for various reasons. If I was coming from a more stable vantage point I definitely would have shopped around. In my case, I was concentrating on lowering that excessive Accord interest down as much as possible, which I feel I successfully did. Now at least I’m paying for a car I want to keep for the long haul. Finally, I plan on paying it off super early so I’ll save thousands more on interest alone. The faster I pay it off, the faster I can upgrade the car :)

I can’t wait to meet up with locals at a Type R gathering. Back when I briefly owned a BRZ, I once went to a BRZ meetup and it was awesome. Of course the BRZ’s interior was low rent, the engine power was a letdown, and the engine made a cricket sound. I found myself in a 2013 Si shortly after as it was just a better overall car. However that BRZ 50/50 lightweight handling was intoxicating. Man if I could put the Type R interior and power into the BRZ handling... that would be something. I think they call those Porsches. As it is, I think the Type R gets closer than most.

I'm in SD and 10/12 cars at dealers near me shown "on the lot" or "in transit" are CW so definitely a good time to try and get a CW one. Not my color choice so useless for me. Good luck to everyone else though! I'd love to see someone get one at true MSRP w/o add-ons in SD. That would be a long time coming.

Thanks for the heads up!! I just got home and paid msrp for the CW at DCH Mission Valley, plus $1697 total for alarm and pro pack, so not msrp but atleast I got something for it. I guess they did sell a red ctr at msrp, it depends on color, black one coming in next. Pretty straight forward, dealt with Anthony and didn’t pay all cash it just says that lol.

I see alot of people searching around to find a dealership that is not charging over msrp or not adding a ton of accessories....
Just so you know, anyone in the Tri-state area, I have a friend at Hamilton Honda in Hamilton NJ. She says her dealership will literally order whatever color you want with any accessories you want straight from the manufacturer. Or if you want one completely stock, they will make sure it comes free of any additives.
In my opinion, its easier to just order what you want at the price you know it show be at and just wait for it, then to run around wasting your time with dealerships that give you the run around. :dunno:

Her name is Sue if anyone wants to talk with her. She is a Sales consultant and she would definitely help you out with no games.

Didn't want to jinx it until I picked it up, but now that it's home:

Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk in Seekonk, MA sold me my '19 CW this weekend for SRP. No ADM, no dealer add ons, none of that bullshit. Colby Ferreira was my sales consultant, and she was awesome, start to finish. Danielle in the internet sales office called me the second a championship white one came in. I never thought I'd be stoked on a dealership purchase, but I kind of am this time. Everything was super easy.

They have one Crystal Black, and one Agean Blue still in stock. If your looking for a CTR in New England, I would definitely give them a ring.
