I saw this on youtube. Thought this would be interesting to share with the civicx community. YouTuber PhongVlog blows Si motor. interested in hearing your thoughts

My thoughts:

1. Pushed the power output way too far.
2. Racing on highways surrounded by other cars, not cool.
3. Title of thread misleading. He didn't just "blow his Si". It was abused.

"I was on a conservative tune "365 tq". WTF?

Tuning an economy car like an Si or base CivicX turbo conservatively (like base Hondata and Ktuner tunes do) (with the stock internals) makes for a fun ride. Trying to tune it to the max and beyond with the stock internals is a recipe for disaster.

Guy has more money apparently than I do. He admitted he knew it was going to break beforehand. Easy come, easy go I guess.

365whp, 386wtq? I think that's pushing it on stock 1.5T engine (with upgraded turbo). I don't think I'd push that far even on the 2.0 CTR engine. But by all means go ahead if you've time and cash to burn.

I think he was just overly abusive with it. I believe Eman is pushing around 400whp on stock internals. Could posibly be driving habbits

Aaaah SI build series channel what? Wow like I get it, like what not to do to your SI......upgrade reverse engineering. Wide open tune first, blow your motor, then you upgrade the broken parts :crazy:. Like chill California style.

No dont think it was on KTuner, but Hondata, just wanted some knowledgeable input from some of the top members. Then again maybe the information provided from the user was inadequate to make an informative assumption
