Front License Plate Mount

for those who have done a mount, is it sturdy enough by just having it attached to the grille? or is it also attached to the frame or something? I would hate to put it on the grille only to have it crack or tear.

Is there a bootleg version of this available? $70 is pretty steep for a license plate bracket lol.

Went with universal mount. Bolted
It to the driver side vent. Here's some pics. Very pleased how it looks and turned out.. very secure. The vent doesnt pop off real easy. I feel it's more solid then in front of the IC area. Also, tired of being pulled over for no front plates. Even though have gotten like 4 warnings and no tickets. Lol Now law enforcement have no reason to pull me over unless for speeding lol. Oh I had one of those sto and sho before.. got jacked or it fell off few months back. Dont buy that unless you bolt it on. The screw it came with to hold the 75 dollar bracket ain't worth a damn. Also went with carbon fiber plates available here in Tx in case anyone is wondering. Hope it helps ya'll.

Sly Bracket no drill relocation kit is worth every penny. Mounted my tonight in the passenger side. I rarely use the horn and can careless if it’s blocking it.

Anyone that did this figure out how to get the back blocks behind the grille? I know you can fit it behind the grille on top (closest to the hood), but it's a long way down and I cant think of an easy way to catch it. The only thing I can think of is pull the undertray back far enough to reach a hand in there. Don't want to jack up the car if I can avoid it..

I've done a lot of work on cars, but it has been YEARS so I'm tripping out over this stupid detail.

I was able to do this for about $10.
Walmart universal license plate holder $6
2 2" bolts, 4 washers, 6 nuts. $4 from Lowe's.

I undid the plastic under the fog light just so I had more room to feed my bolts through. Utilized the open spots in the grill for the horn.

My car came with a front plate from the dealer so I just used that bracket to make it fit better

I ended up with Perrin...it was cheap and got the bumper plugs of course

Went with a Raceseng license plate holder. Easily removed and replaced by their tow hook on track days.

The plate was a secondary purchase to the Raceseng tow hook, which was the main objective.

I went with Perrin. The cons is you have to cut the fog light cover in order to screw this into your bumper frame but it looks pretty nice.

There’s a guy by the name of Type-JZ on here that sells 3D printed ones I bought a couple from that’s of high quality. Had them for about a year now. Never mounted my plates but it’s been on without issues. It’s a pretty clever design. He says he tracks with them on too.
