Congrats! I just got my si coupe and it freaking rocks. The wife gave me the space arguement but we rarely have people in either of our cars and if we do it’s usually just her sister. If we need something with more space, she has an HRV so we have that covered. When I was in the Marine Corps, I had a mustang got coupe and never had an issue hauling all of my gear in it and believe me there was a lot of gear.
Congrats on your Si coupe when people talk about cargo space they don’t realize the back seats fold down on the coupe for large items. The hatchback has more cargo room than the coupe and sedan ( i wrote that down because I know I would hear something from a hatchback fan)

I'm in the process of picking up a Platinum White 2019 SI Coupe. I just have to wait for it to be delivered to the dealership next week. My daughter is 8.5 yrs old and uses a booster seat. The booster fits in the "indents" of the back seat (where the passengers sit behind the driver and passenger) perfectly. There is plenty of leg room and she doesn't have to worry about head room. She wanted no part of the 4 door and liked the look of the coupe better. I think she also liked having her own pedal that is behind the passenger seat.

Since the 10th gen civic have grown to almost the same size as the 9th gen Accords there passenger space is almost the same as the between 2019 coupe and 2013 sedan.

Passenger Volume: coupe 89 cu.ft. vs. sedan 95 cu.ft. of which the difference is basically less headroom due to the sunroof and sloped back window. Hip/leg/shoulder room in the front and back are basically the same and sometimes more in the new coupe. For me I'm getting 95% of the versatility of the sedan in a vehicle that is much nicer looking (when compared to the 2013 LX or 2019 SI sedans).

I feel ya man. Son is almost 7 now and he has no problem hopping in and out of the back seat. Granted, he rarely rides in my car, but it's never been an issue. I had a real hard time deciding between Si Coupe and Si Sedan. Ended up getting both. :dunno:

If you're getting an Si make sure you get a Coupe!! My friend and I have a 2019 red Si but my is a coupe and a gets way more attention for the look!
If you have kids I would go with the Sedan, otherwise get a coupe

I've been debating on this very issue - sedan vs coupe - when we buy a Civic in a month or two. I'm drawn to the looks of the coupe quite a bit but the fact that we are adding a dog (sheepdoodle) to our family around the same time we get a new car gives me pause. I work from home so would be pretty active with our furbaby taking him to the park every odd day at least. Aside from being smart and covering the back seat, I wonder how much of a chore it is for a 70lb dog to jump in and out of the back seat often.

On the coupe you have to pull the seat up for passengers to enter the rear . I basically live alone and have no friends so the coupe fits my needs. even if I had a lot of friends I’d still have a coupe

As a dog lover with experience in travelling with all sizes... I'd never have bought my coupe with the intention of travelling with a big pooch in the back seat. Sure it's do-able when the pup is younger, but when they get older, or suffer health issues it'd be a pain. Having just gone through hell and back with my half paralyzed shepherd, my coupe would have been close to impossible to use for vet appointments. Just my opinion :)

I'd say the hatch is the most popular due to the fact that:
1)The Type-R is a hatch. Given the R's popularity, it's bound to make the regular hatchbacks (which obviously have a very close body style to it) way more popular than the other body styles.
2)Practicality isn't lost for it's looks. I think the body lines fit the best on the coupes, but you lose the practicality of an easily accessible back seat and hatch. The body lines arguably fit just as good if not better on the hatch, and you don't lose any practicality. At the end of the day Civics are still 'econoboxes'/family cars so practicality is a top priority, even for guys like myself on here who are tuned and/or doing performance mods.

This is all coming from a guy who was very torn between an '18 hatch and an '18 coupe, and it ended up coming down to number 2. I still see pics of coupes on here and think "Why didnt I get a coupe instead" sometimes, lol.

What I will say is that I don't think Civic coupes are dying at all. On here I see more coupes than sedans (personally), and on the road I see more coupes than sedans and hatches (again, in my area).
I'm in Philly too and I only see Sedans and hatches!! Rarely a coupe but they look even better when I do see them

I was originally set on buying a sedan, or even a hatch, but those are all you see in and around NY. I’ve really fallen in love with the styling of the coupe. Wouldn’t change my decision.

So crazy how times have changed in the Civics hey-day back in the early 90s everyone wanted coupes!!! Coupes were thought to be lighter and faster than 4 doors. It was even cool to see sedan all fixed up and turbo charged...funny how times change!!!! I'm

One thing that was a really nice surprise with the coupe is how much usable space you actually have... popping the rear seats down opens up a decent amount of trunk space which can be great for road/camping trips.

Also in the rare case I have extra passengers they're always surprised at how comfortable and how much room they have in the rear seats and my dog can sit back there without issue as well.

I love the way the coupe looks as much as I love the hatch. It was a tie for me. I have 2 children and so I felt the coupe wasn't the best option. I'm happy I went with the hatchback. When my kids are older, I will definitely reconsider the coupe. They're both sharp.

I used to live about forty miles east from you on the island town called selden I used to see a lot of older civic coupes in NY mostly tuned but down here in Florida I see mostly sedans and hatchbacks the 10th gen that is.
