I made it to 37,xxx before I had to replace mine. They were down to about 3mm. I have daily driven my car since June 2017.

I went with the Hawk 5.0s as the replacement. I'd prefer Project Mu Club Racers, but there were none available. I have been pleased with the new pads so far.
What kinda driving do you do? How would you compare the Hawk 5.0's to that of stock? I really am looking for something that has longevity with all the stopping power of stock. :|

I'd say 70% back country roads, 30% town/city. The 5.0s seem nice. They have a decent feel, they're not noisy, I'd compare them to stock, honestly. I'm pleased with them so far.

I'm at 7,100 miles and need to replace the rear pads for the second time, they are down to 4mm per the Honda dealer as of this morning (oil change). A handful of track days in there between the two sets of pads.

Are there some decent rear pads available in the aftermarket yet?

I went with the hawk performance ceramic and I’m very happy so far. Only a few hundred miles.

I’m also going with gyro disc back slotted rotors

I have 17k miles and just check my pads myself. Not sure why the dealership said mine were fine. The rears are getting close to hitting those tabs.

The fronts are okay, but may as well replace them this weekend along with the backs

flying gato (@dominican ) has a youtube vid that he proves the rears are all the same for the 10th gen civics. So you could get a hawk pad for a 2017 civic sedan and use it for the rear...if that's what you're wanting

I'm actually taking this opportunity to replace the pads (front and rear with Hawks 5.0) and the rotors (front and rear Centric Premiums). I read that Honda isn't supposed to resurface the front rotors as part of the service manual for the Type R; I've been to two shops and both said they couldn't resurface them.

You can see what my rotors look like: https://www.civicx.com/threads/chea...t-rotors-for-the-fk8.32739/page-4#post-578185

Got mine checked a couple days ago at ~15.5K miles and I'll also need to replace soon. My rear pads are also more worn than my front pads. I do a lot of city driving and haven't tracked the car yet.

Looking at aftermarket solutions since I'd rather not replace every 15K miles. Haven't narrowed my pad choices yet, but I'm leaning towards Girodisc rotors for longevity, and I do want to do some track days this year.

City driving is a lot of stop and go. Do you engine break (downshift) at all? That could help, and with the auto-rev system, makes it much more manageable. I'm normally in Comfort mode if I'm in the city (Chicago) and downshifting right around 2200 RPM.

I engine brake mainly when I'm slowing for a turn or exiting an off ramp on the highway, not so much with stop and go driving. I figured replacing brakes would be cheaper than replacing a clutch, but would never think that they would need replacing after just ~15K miles....

Is that right? I thought I remember hearing they were different but that was a while ago.. I noticed Tirerack still doesn't show any rear pads for the R
