Buy a Pella pump, they are about $40.
Wait for your oil of choice to go on sale - QSUD 5L can be had for $30ish at CDN tire.
Half way through your oil change interval of choice, extract your fuel filled oil with the pump and replace with fresh stuff.
My car took just over 3L last time when not changing the filter.
20 minutes and $18 extra per interval for your piece of mind (outside the cost of the pump)
This is not a bad idea for someone that is overly concerned about the dilution issue,
normal oil change interval on my car (with most cars these days with synthetic oil) is about 10K miles per the maintenance (re)minder.
You could vacuum out the oil pan (through the dipstick tube) at 5K miles, fill it with fresh oil. Your engine will love you for it.

Actually on a mathematical basis if you looked at the fuel trims in the ECU, the amount of fuel that was “rich” sprayed in idle versus the amount of fuel “rich” sprayed while running, you would see that more over-fueling will occur while running per minute. Thus, after five minutes of driving the car, more fuel will make its way into crankcase than from 5 minutes in idle. I have noted that the engine does warm up rather rapidly even in idle so I always idle for 1-3 minutes and then I drive with slow accelerations until I am seeing temperature on the water temp “gauge” to at least halfway to “normal.” As I tell people, garages and engine heaters your best bets to improving the lethargic warming of the new 1.5 motors.
Idling your car is of absolutely no benefit to warming up your engine. It may work in Texas but at -30 it's not worth a damn. It will be warmer in 5 min of driving than an eternity of idling. Garages and block heaters work well expecially for short trips but higher rpms is key in producing heat in this engine. Using S mode and keeping rpms over 2500 to 3000 while driving gently until warmed has worked very well for me. Don't expect much heat at -30C with the Cvt keeping revs around 1500.

I checked Amazon Canada and Pela Oil Extractor is $110CAN.

Wow, I got my 6000 a few years back for around 40 from a marine place. The exact place escapes me right now. You have to watch Amazon prices, they are not always the cheapest.
Try these:

Thanks. This is great. With this tool, we can do an oil change without lifting the car.
How does it work? You fish the small hose into the dipstick tube, then pump to extract the oil? How much oil can you extract from this pump?

That is exactly right.

I didn't measure what came out last time but I refilled it with just over 3 litres to the max line. I think our capacity is 3.7 litres with the filter holding about .5.

No jacks, no mess, no hassle.

Good to know. Thanks.
How about cleanup? Will the hose be blocked after a few uses?

BTW. Mobile 1 synthetic oils are now on sales in Canadian Tires. I used Mobile 1 synthetic oil in my previous call with excellent results.

I just make sure the oil is warm when I change it. Then hold the tube up to let it drain into the container. Never any problems. Then just pour the pela into a large container and take to the dump.

Just get one! I have a hatch myself and love it! 12,000 miles and no issues so far.

I have a 2016 Civic EX-T 1.5 turbo and have had many problems with the car and it just turned 24000. I have ever dash lights come on eps traction control engine all of them and the car would go into limp mode and stall. Leaking injectors dealer replaced all. Then when ac on only somewhat cool air coming out of the passenger side. No warranty coverage and 260 to put freon in it!!!! This car is junk and I would definitely stay away from!!! I loved Honda's and have owned many but will never buy another Honda car again!!

Mine 2017 HB sport is about to turn 40K miles. No problem with the car at all. Mine was also the first batch of Hatchbacks shipped to Socal too

Ok, so I was upset that my oil level was going up from obviously more fuel in the oil but it wasn't a dramatic amount, just enough to upset me. I started using a heavier oil and a Motul oil to boot and the performance has dramatically improved. The 0-20 in USA oil is thin and probably specified to add 1mpg. What is funny is that the 0-40 oil I am using is giving me 2 more miles per gallon, the engine is quieter, and you can sense that the cylinder walls stay coated better because start-up idle is seamless from cold-start. I may settle on a 5-30 next time as I do want the oil to pump easily as well as reduce friction as this one is doing.
Hi! Any new experiences with 5-w30? My dealer (Germany) put 5w30 in the engine instead of the factory recommended 0w20. I was surprised, but happy about it tbh. I’m planning to talk with the dealer and make them put motul in the car instead of shell next time.

I don't believe it's even technically possible to design a consumer car engine that would run well on 0W20 but had any problems with 5W30, including very long term performance. Even if someone tried really hard to achieve something like this. Can't be done.
