Hello, just had questions. Would they make high flow cats that go right after the turbo? Not the one under the car.

Catalytic converters are used on the exhaust. After the turbo is the engine, then exhaust, then cat. Theres no combustion byproducts before the engine. The turbo just compresses air.

Ah, sorry I still don't understand, but after the turbo it has a cat and I'm sure it's part of the exhaust.

Are you talking about replacing the stock unit with an aftermarket high flow catalyst for performance? If so, it isn't going net you any measurable gains. The stock catalyst isn't that restrictive to the engine to begin with.

I'm not looking much for performance but just to make it sound a bit different. I would straight pipe all the way but it has a sensor there:/

It sounds like you should get a cat-back exhaust system w/ 2.5'' mandrel bent tubing. That will give you the sound/performance that you're after, and won't piss off the law/ void warranty. Also, don't delete the cat it will contribute to boost creep, especially with a high flow exhaust.

I see, I honestly don't like how it sounds, through the vids I've seen it sounds close to a fart can and idk bout that. Might the videos audio or the car itself. So I wanna go for a high flow cat and not a test pipe :,(

An aftermarket cat might get you ~1whp, and that's being optimistic. The cat that's currently on your engine does not create nearly as much of a restriction to flow as the turbo located upstream of it. Best bet is a cold air intake or a blow off valve if you want to increase induction noise.

But at the end of the day, it's a 1.5L economy engine. It's never going to sound like a cammed K or J series. You'll have to experiment with the exhaust to find the right sound for you.

In my experience with forced induction cars like the turbo civic, the cat is the biggest restriction in the exhaust system...that's why you see guys going with catless downpipes, which isn't an option for me, but I would imagine a downpipe with a high flow cat will be coming along with the catless option. The downpipes will provide most of the performance gains on an exhaust system...more so than a cat back exhaust will.

I've got a injen cold intake on it already. But thanks tho! I'll have to experiment for sure

Awesome man! Thanks I'll have to keep my head out and look for it. Might take a while tho:/

The computer is also very restrictive. It doesn't like power it can't explain. You'll need a tune to truly benefit from any modifications done with this car.

Ktuner has one :) got mine and loving it. Trying a 91+ octane tune next week
