275/30 on 19”x9.5” +45 wheels work perfectly on stock suspension. Not one instance of rubbing, even with 4 passengers & hatch full of luggage on comfort mode. I would not go less than +45 with anything more than 265, especially on any kind of drop.

Thank you for your in-depth work on our chassis. Could you shed some more light into the upcoming proper offset wheels? Are we talking +50 or more? And what kind of cost?
We’ll start seeing more of 9.5” wide and +45ET and 8.5-9.0” wide and +50ET. I’m guessing pricing should be same as current brands that are selling them like Volks and Advan etc.

Only Titan 7 today really focus on 9.5” wide and +45ET. They do have some +35ET but don’t sell as many of those for obvious reasons.

Thank you! How about 255/40 on 18x9.5 ET 45 with stock suspension? There was one reported case where the owner rubbed in the rear with 245/40 (AD08R Tires) on stock suspension (18x9.5 ET 45). To eliminate any possibility of rubbing on full suspension compression (aggressive track and mountain driving with dips) is the commendation to always run a 35 profile? I will be purchasing Hankook RS4 tires for track and canyon duty and need to decide between 255/35 or 255/40.
Not sure how that’s possible to rub on 245/40/18 with 18x9.5+45ET on stock suspensions. My car is lowered on Eibach Pro Kit and have been using 245/40/18 with 18x9.5+45ET and good room left without any kind of rubbing at all under heavy cornering load. That’s odd that the owner rubbed.

Yes, 255/40/18 on 18x9.5+45ET works with stock suspension. You’ll be slightly larger than stock circumference by +0.9% which is good and well within +/- 2.0% max. You won’t rub.

Are you running the Titan wheels? I am looking for a 18" set up that can run 285/35, or 275/40. Curious to know if your set up would be fine for these without any rub. Forgot to mention, I'll be staying stock height.

Thanks,
Why so wide out of curiosity? 285 is going to be a heavy tire. The front may clear the fender but it’s the damper you may be concerned with. 285 on the rear is not going work for both fender and inside. You may want to consider reverse staggered of 275 front and 265 or 255 rear to rotate the car better.

Too wide a rear tire will actually may your car understeer even more than initial stock entry understeer.

Awesome, that sounds great for the platform going forward. Keep us posted on what you're hearing!

Why only +45ET on a 9.5", and +50ET on a 9.0"?

On this very thread there is a car with +55ET and 10.0" wheels. And the pictures posted show plenty of clearance on the struts. If +55 clears with 10.0" then a proper 9.5" should have +55-60ET to keep the geometry correct.

Thank you. I learned the owner who rubbed (edge of tire) was running 18x9.5 + 44 (not 45) with 255/40 AD08Rs, on stock suspension. He shared pictures. The first picture shows the rub mark on the rear and the second shows the front wheel. Owner says he was on a very high speed turn.

I am looking to get Hankooks RS4. For 255s, they only offer 255/35. I hear the RS4s run taller an wider as well, so aesthetically I may be fine.

Hello There - Are you on stock suspension? Could you provide more side picture of of this setup? I'd like to see how much of a gap you have between the tire and fenders with a 255/35 vs. 255/40. I am considering the same RS4 tires, but a 35 vs. 40 to avoid any possibility of running on the canons and track. I had heard of one case of rubbing with a 18x9.5 ET45 on stock suspension. The individual was running AD08R tires.
Hello there; I had similar reserves , I have not quite found a suspension I would to try, I have Bilstein PSS9s on my S2k and those or KW's would be something Id consider going too.. well see.

So below yes stock suspension.

Also I will be going 265 next season! Therr was/is enough room .

Hello there. Thanks for sharing the experience. How did you like the RS4s on the CTR? Did you track the car? Looks like you are running 19s whereas I will be on 18x9.5 ET45 with 255/35 (most likely as the Hankook RS4 is not offered in 255/40). 255/35 does not look bad on 19s, we will see how it looks on 18s soon.

Sweet! Love the PS4S for daily driving. Look forward to getting these on my stock wheels plus Hankook RS4 for the 18s.
