Bgood what transportation company did you end up using? Or getting the quote from. Thanks and congrats on the CTR!
I got the quote from Montway Auto Transport/ I haven't used them before, but they look highly rated

I think i got pretty decent deal since its the bay area. Picked up a 2019 blue type R last weekend for 2k over msrp from Capitol Honda in San Jose, CA. Had to go through so many dealers that wouldn't go below 4.5-5k mark up. Ended up settling on 2k over since this is probably the closest i get to msrp in the bay area for a 2019.

I've waited a long time to make this post and am happy to say I finally found a red CTR at MSRP (yes, MSRP as in $35,700 + destination fee $699 + tax, tag and title). Southeastern Honda in Palm Bay Florida (just south of I-4 and I-95 junction) is where I had the pleasure of doing business. I had to drive 3 hours south from my home in Jacksonville despite a 2019 red CTR in the showroom at my local Honda dealer (Honda of the Avenues), who wouldn't budge from $5k ADM

Southeastern Honda also offered me MORE than what CarMax offered me for trade in (which was a virtually flawless 2015 4 door red Civic Si with 59k miles, completely OEM). Additionally, they also offered me $500 off of destination fee if I had a trade in (this was their initial offer before I even mentioned having a trade in).

I am overwhelmingly pleased with my experience at Southeastern Honda. They currently have a 2019 red and CW CTR in the showroom, though I heard that the dealership was firm on an ADM for the CW. Contact Donna or Nick from their sales team, they were very friendly and made the buying experience almost too easy to be true. I told them I would post about my experience, so feel free to mention Justin recommended them.
Congrats!! Gorgeous in RR!

Roseberg Honda in Oregon sold me mine for just over MSRP because of add on's. They should definitely be on the nice list considering that jerks I have dealt with here in Oregon!

Nice job getting one near MSRP in Oregon. My girlfriend and I both bought ours from out of state and shipped them here because nobody would budge off $5k over.

It’s cool that you video your car being back out of the show room. I wondered if any one bought their type r and it was not on display in a show room.
I don't think my R was on display. My rep contacted me when it came in and said they tucked it away, he sent me a photo too and it was tucked in a corner lol

After 6 months of searching for a CW at MSRP, I ended up buying a CW yestarday for MSRP + 900 in Texas

RoundRock, Austin. They use to sell at MSRP until recently and now have gone to a first come first bases with a market adjustment. Was on a list for a CW for a while now and they got away from the queue. I heard that the last few buyers (multiple) were camped out for 6+ hours on the day the truck came. I heard there were 2 cars and 3 buyers. I got lucky and was there (small tip from my sales guy) when the truck came in and was able to snag it. Having waited for a couple of years now and seeing all the fun folks are having here with the cars, made me envious, so I had to give in a little to get it.

I never understood these comments...you may think its only a civic but to some folks this car is a bit more special. Don't knock people for genuinely wanting to get their hands on the hottest hatch on the planet.

I think I agree with this. They shouldn't be marked up the way they are. They're special cars but they're not THAT special.

I was doing some aggressive shopping this week and most of the dealers I called all wanted a 10k mark up. I think a "little" mark up is deserved, just to take advantage of the demand but 10k?? Come on. It's a civic man and one that I don't see them limiting production of any time soon. Not bashing on anyone's "dream car" or whatever but let's be real here.

Anyways, after a few days, I was able to close on a brand new 19' for MSRP + 295 dollars for window tint.

btw. I'm from the Bay Area.

I agree, the reason they are popular is because they are relatively affordable. And I think Honda priced it right. But when dealers get greedy they price it in a price category with more competitive cars. The price advantage is gone. There are a lot of compelling cars at $40-45K.
