Accord sport 2.0t... problem solved or the new ilx dct trans and I'm sure the 1.5t will carry over
If they still made an Accord Coupe, I'd be all in, sadly they are history. Always have driven coupes, now limited to Civics, so, there it is. If Honda made a 2019 Touring Coupe 2.0t I'd be driving one.

That's what my son suggested (he's driving a Wrangler with raised suspension and giant tires that's too high for me to get in, lol).

Getting old's a bitch, but not ready to surrender my treasured Civic yet...

I can split it into what i expect might happen, and what is purely wish list for me...

What seems tangible
-Standard LED (or at least LED combo lights like accord)
-Heated steering wheel
-Marginal retune for better mpg/hp (think like 1 mpg better and 2-3 hp)
-Ventilated seats
-Larger updated infotainment screen
-More configurable digital gauge display
-Keep the full width taillight bar with new design (and better light spread)

What i'd like personally but are less likely...
-Auto Si option (or a new trim that is comparable, S? GT?)
-Exposed exhaust tips
-If no auto Si, then a Sport trim for both engines like accord (or coupe goes full turbo like the hatches)
-Better/more interesting seat fabric design (honda fabric/seat selections are always kind of boring IMO)

My ideal vision of the SI would be a Coupe, with the 2.0t from the Accord, a sturdy 6 or 7 speed non-CVT automatic transmission, leather, LSD, and sensing. I loved the Accord Coupe, if they still made it and in a Touring 2.0t version, I would be all in, the Accord is nice, but don't need a sedan and a tad larger than my needs.
The Veloster is interesting but I'm pretty wedded to Honda's after 30+ years, also have an excellent relationship with my Honda dealer. If it ain't broke, etc.......

Agree on this one. If only they still made an accord coupe, i'd be all in for an auto 2.0T version.

I've looked at the veloster before in depth, my biggest gripe is that hyundai has the stones to charge similar money for the veloster as honda does the civic, and the veloster's interior is absolute crap. Hard plastic everywhere, not a soft touch surface in sight. Given that the veloster has a interior that could've been made in the 90s as well as features missing that are on my must have list make it less than desirable.

I was really hoping Hyundai would knock it out of the park, so that i potentially would have something other than the civic coupe to look at seriously but they missed the mark on some major things that without a decent value price difference, make the overall car subpar by comparison.

Damn, theres some good suggestions on here. Imagine if Honda actually somehow saw this thread lol. Also, I think Honda should keep the Si manual only. The moment they start offering automatic I kinda feel like the manual transmission sales are will plummet and Honda will stop making the manual Si because it isn't viable.

I would love to see:
heated steering wheel, adjustable lumbar support that feature where the driver mirror tilts down like my 09tsx. AMD of course.

Mabey some more HP?

But not too soon I just bought mine last week!

Edit. Features present in the veloster N. (Including a great audio system)If the VN had a bigger door and a smaller blind spot. I would without a doubt be driving it instead.

Would like Honda to offer some exterior options such as front spoiler, upgraded ICE etc.
I am also hoping that new civic will be some sort of hybrid.

Make MT available on the Sport Touring hatchback like the rest of the world and Canada!

Icing on the cake:

+ heated steering wheel
+ seat-position memory
+ rear parking sensors
+ mirror-integrated blindspot warning indicators
+ rain-sensing wipers
+ adaptive (swiveling) headlights
+ performance-oriented hybrid drivetrain
+ the Type R must return or at least an SiR

I wish Lane Departure would work most of the time, it seems like the camera doesn't detect the lane marking when I'm inside the city, only highway. Maybe its the city who needs to improve the marking.

I also wish the Collision Mitigation Braking knows the condition of the road, whether its icy, rainy or dry so it could engage sooner rather than scaring me so much.

Most importantly, I want to be able to step on the gas and maintain the same exact speed without putting too much effort. I always get different speed reading no matter how careful I am with the throttle.

My wishlist:
  1. Better paint
  2. Better paint
  3. Better paint
I can't believe how many little stone chips I have on my front end / hood. The paint is really soft.
