Sure thing. I think they do it every other Saturday. Calendar is here: http://carsandcoffeerichmond.com/Calendar.aspx
Three of us from the forums went early February (holy crap was it cold!), and man there were a lot of cars there. One of the other forum members has been recruiting locally, so we're hoping to have a whole line up of CTR's there!
Sounds great. Thanks for sending the calendar link and I look forward to meeting you guys.

Sorry if this has been discussed already.

When I stop my CTR I sometimes hear this loud metallic sound. When I first heard it I thought I had driven over a loose, heavy steel plate as I was coming to the stop. There was nothing there and I’ve heard it in several different locations. Of course, it’s intermittent and I will have to record the sound for the dealer, but lazy me thought I’d check in with you guys to see if this sounds like a familiar problem.

EDIT: The sound comes from the front of the car.

I’d be grateful for any insight.

Cheers!
Did you ever figure this out? I swear it has started on my car. I’ve think I’ve heard to two different times but am always so surprised I’m never sure it’s coming from my car. Just started yesterday.

No problem. Was first thing that pooped in my mind because I’ve read about it so many times.

So where are you in Virginia?
I think I might have seen you around! I have red CTR and I live in chesterfield. My ig is @Joseph_Torres1

I will keep an eye out. I’ve not seen a red CTR around. You should go to Cars and Coffee this weekend up at Regency. You’d make the third CTR. A black, a gray, and a red. Now we just need blue and white!! Oh. And the new light gray.

Well, I was convinced the noise was stones trapped in the rotor dust shield but I’m still not sure. The noise is so loud, just as if I’m driving over a big old metal plate. Did you also suspect the dust shield explanation?

I’m beginning to suspect that may be true. Seems to always happen after hearing the tires throwing gravel.

This is one of the reasons I switched to 18's. had 3 rocks in the same brake shield, including during the drive to change out the wheels. All within 1000 miles. None since the switch. no room for rocks now.

This is the closest thread I've found to a similar noise I've heard in my car... I can reproduce it randomly (seemingly in colder temperatures?), on braking. It's like a clanging noise inside the front of my engine, like when two plates hit each other.

The car is fine pretty much at all other times. The times I've noticed it is when I'm slowing to a stop to reverse, while in reverse and coming to a full stop (just before the full stop the clanging noise happens) or when I'm in second gear letting out to neutral at a red light (just before the car comes to a full stop) at very, very low speeds (say, 15-20kmph).

Hard to get a video of it since it's so random...

Sorry to hear you’re having that issue. In my case it occurred one time rolling up to a guard at my work place. The noise was loud enough to make him comment. Rocks trapped would surely give a continual scraping sound. This, as you said, is more like running over warped plates, just like running over a warped manhole cover. Car is fine also at all other times.
