Anyone know what the top speed limiter is set to on the 1.5T models?

I like that the ACC will work up to 90MPH, I'm sure it won't be able to slow down to a car going 55 in front of you without hitting it but it's a fun speed to pick as the max it will work at. :)

The ACC in the Civic can use a lot of brake. Many other cars have warnings that flash and beep for the driver to take control because they won't go past 50% braking force. The Civic has the warning, but it's optional and I don't think I've even seen it while in ACC. It's helpful that the following distance changes with speed. I even set mine to warm me EARLIER just in case.

One way to get a rough idea of the top speed of any car is to look at the speed rating of the factory tires. My regular 1.5L turbo has "H" rated tires which are good for 130mph. Not saying the car will go that fast but it should not exceed that speed. A magazine article said the regular 1.5L turbo had a top speed of 127mph, and that keeps it below the tire's speed rating.

Hatch sport tires are W rated (168 mph).

Hi folks. Mine is european sport hatch. It has top speed of 230kmh(142mph) which i'v tested on the german highway. It does exactly 230kmh tacho ( about 224 gps). The engine definitely could do more ( untuned) but the limiter is halting it.

From what I've been reading, the 2.0 can do 0-60 in 7.8 seconds while the 1.5T will do it somewhere between 6.8 and 7.2 seconds. That's only a 0.6 to 1.0 second difference between the engines.
But more importantly, that 2.0 is significantly faster than the 9th Gen that it's replacing, which was around 8.8 seconds.
An entire second when discussing performance of vehicles relative to 0 to 60 mph times is a huge and very significant differential imho.

Take a gander at this depressing article. Maybe we should all step on it while we still can
https://driving.ca/features/feature...g-will-not-just-be-illegal-itll-be-impossible
This article which talks about absolutely controlling all cars (or at least new ones) to limit them to posted speed limits is probably one of the most insane ideas of the coming world wide authoritarian rule of society that I have heard of in a long time. I find it difficult to consider the ramifications of something like this actually being implemented. There have to be far reaching safety implications.

I will have to think about what life on the road would actually look like if the powers that be did this. I doubt they will even try it in the short time frame mentioned (by 2022) in the article. Usually things like this are announced as a way of preconditioning people. But, at some point in the future, this will probably happen. When? Who knows but it seems to me that we are all heading more and more quickly into a life where total control of the masses is the end game.

If any of you doubt this, I urge you to truly research just the new 5G technology and it's real capabilities. These wave guide transceivers can be used to target and track individuals and easily even be used for crowd control. Yet hardly anyone thinks it suspicious that first and second world governments are paying for it.

This is just a link I quickly looked up. But there are a huge number of others. You have to want to know however. Most people just don't want to know. Scientist Nick Begich has some very disturbing discussions about this on YouTube as well.

According to the article, the new rules have been passed and these GPS black boxes will be installed on all new Euro cars for 2022, which along with other features will be limiting their speed to posted speed limits. I may be missing something, but this seems to be a done deal...no more going past posted speed. And Europe has a sort of authoritarian socialist vibe, so I totally believe this. It won’t be on this side of the Atlantic, but I can’t help thinking it’ll only be a matter of time till a jurisdiction here gets the same notion in their heads.
I’m surprised this news hasn’t made bigger headlines, as it should

I am surprised that you are surprised by the fact that this hasn't been widely reported on.

The same people who want this type of control have been in control of mainstream media for decades. If one wishes to know what is really going on, the last place to look to is mainstream media outlets

Yes, you can set it up to do that.
