I finally talked my wife into getting one so I think it will be pretty soon. I can afford one but it's not a need item. I love my Civic Touring and will keep it. I walked into Honda Cars of Mckinney today., They have had a red one on the floor for around a month. Last time I went in I wasn't quite ready. Today I said if they will sell at list I will buy it., They said 46k but would discount 3k to 43k (I guess)., I laughed, told the salesman they just didn't want to sell it. He pretty much agreed. In parting I told him I would go buy one and at least bring it to them for service. LOL
Nah, don't give that place half a penny. They are among the worst, if not THE worst. They really do believe that selling at 43K is doing YOU a favor.

Well, I am in the market for my Type R here in San Diego, CA. I just got my first call back from Pacific Honda and he threw the I have good news and bad news. "We have a CW CTR but is the good news, the bad news is that we were informed they aren't making them anymore cause they are closing the plant." I said, "Stop, before you go any further, they are not stopping production but rather will be making them in North America." He said, "that's not what my manager told me, and I said, "then your manager should read the news". He said he would call me back. Such a ridiculous process for this car. Manufacturer's should get a handle on this.
Long story short, stay away from Pacific Honda.

They are not closing the Swindon plant until after the current generation in over. So all planned current generation CTRs will be produced.

It's just fear factor selling, hurry and get yours before you cant is what they are trying to do. Pass, I'll find one elsewhere. Anyone else have luck in San Diego recently?

so tired of the greed and miss information ,
not sure why honda cant do some sort of price restriction , give it to a dealer who will just sell you the car at msrp or with accessories but not with overpriced accessories, and BS paint protection

Exactly. It was only a matter of time before a dealer tried to use the plant closure to pressure a sale. It boggles my mind how stupid and/or dishonest car dealers still are in the year 2019. I feel like it's 1979.

San Diego CTR market sucks. Not a lot of cars being sold because the dealers are pulling this crap and still charging high ADMs or adding on $7K worth of crap. Not a lot of cars being delivered by Honda either though, so not enough supply pressure to break the ADMs. Not a lot of cars being sold. Not a lot of cars being delivered. Basically nothing is changing. Almost 2 years later, you'd think Honda should be able to supply enough cars to put more pressure on the ADMs. Tiring.

Today it looks like more of the San Diego dealers have cars listed as "In Transit" on Honda's website. All Championship White. If you're looking for a CW, San Diego will have more to choose from soon.

Add Colma Honda (Serramonte Honda) to list. $5K-$10K+ Mark Up. Claims that will no longer be in production because factory closing.

I'm in for service and Hall Honda in Virginia Beach has two on the floor. The sonic gray is 52k. I did not check the black one but given my past with the sales here it is at least 40k.

Good friend just picked up the CW from Temcula. MSRP + $1700...... not bad and something I would consider if I did not have my RS already. They have a Blue and and Black there still available.

I went in person to both. Kastner Honda claimed they sold the sonic gray for $12k over since it was only 1 of 3 in Cali.
$12K for 1 of 3? Nuts. I'm pretty sure there are way more than 3 just in SoCal if you search through the dealer inventory on Honda's website.

The Sonic Grey color is scarce in California, I believe there has been 5 sold already and there are only like 3-5 left currently until more inventory comes out later in the year.
