I want to unplug that obnoxious POS, but I don't know where it is. It's in the back somewhere, has anyone come across it taking their car apart?

ha ha ha. IT IS OFF... But nice effort on you guys to try to make me feel stupid.

I'm talking about the one that beeps like a f**king smoke detector when you, for example, start your car and then close the door to scrape the ice off your windows.

I haven't found it. But I discovered that if I leave the door open or unlatched (not closed); it doesn't squawk when I walk out of range to get the mail, open a gate, etc.

That’s curious. I left my car idling in the driveway many times to get something and nothing beeps. Why?

Wasn't trying to make you feel stupid. Just assumed you didn't know that could be turned off. I guess I just miss understood your issue since you called it the "walk away beeper" and that beep isn't for proximity.

To keep it from beeping like that when the car is running, you can just leave the key in the car.

I have no idea where the sounder is located

serious question, why the hell does it beep like an angry girlfriend randomly after shutting off the car and exiting? I cannot for the life figure out why (about 50% of the time) it has a holy shit fit and beeps 20x for no goddamn reason.

Yes. Mine also does this frequently and I’ve found it’s related to the door closed sensors. If we’re experiencing the same issues, then I assume your car doesn’t lock when it chimes a ton of times either.

probably not. I usually tell it to "shut the eff up" and start hitting lock and unlock lol. Seriously though i'm like let me get out of my damn car before you freak out for no reason.

A lot of threads about this. Seems the prevailing opinion is that if you have anything metallic against the fob it works part time. Usually whatever keyring you have or fob is in pocket with your phone.
