We've kept this under wraps long enough; our upgraded charge pipe kit for the FK8 Civic Type-R is in the final stages of development. This kit will fit all stock location intercoolers. Pricing and ETA will be released shortly, stay tuned for more info!

Upgraded charge pipe kit will feature larger diameter piping on both hot and cold side charge pipes. The intercooler outlet will be cast, standard 4-ply silicone will be used, as well as upgraded piping with integrated bung.

I’ll go ahead and ask. Since stock hoses are good for 500hp, who is this more aimed towards, performance wise?

Out of curiosity, how do you know they’re good for 500hp? I haven’t seen a single 500hp dyno let alone how deformed the pipes might be getting at that HP level

THREE good reasons:

Stock hoses have 1 Ply of reinforcement brading, made out of rubber (which is prone to fatigue) and the 1 Ply rubber will absorb/transfer heat. Silicone is an insulator and will better withstand movement. At the points that the silicone tubing is applied, is well after any turbulance; nor are they used on the hot side direct connection points.
An excellent benefit to long term peace of mind.

Example of what happens to underrated/lower reinforcement tubing on FI engines:

(That video may bring a laugh or two)

Prl has said it before. A long time ago they were asked why they didn’t put out upgraded hoses when the intercooler were released. That was their explanation. The stock hoses were sufficient enough for 500hp

Yeah, I really want these but i'll wait for some more info and pricing.
I like how this is a full piping kit.

Drawings look great. One question that I'm sure others will ask: how will the larger diameter pipes affect turbo lag (if at all)? Thanks!

The cast portion from the turbo, will you guys offering a ceramic coating option on this?

May be more advantages to get the turbo ceramic coated?
