I just purchased the catless downpipe, now deciding on PRLs SRI with race or street maf.. Will this be too much for my cvt? I do have a ktuner I haven't use yet as nothing is installed yet.. I need to hear the whoosh!
You will hear the “whoosh” either way. The Race requires using the Ktuner base tune for the Race. If anything blows up your CVT, it’s not going to be the 4-5 wtq that you get with the Race vs Street MAF choice. It’s going to be the Ktuner tune.

... and we've had zero CVT failures as a result of our tunes in the nearly three years the public has been running our tunes.

Just not trying to go overboard with my cvt

Parts gathered so far:
Ktuner
Prl catless

In search of an intake and exhaust and that'll be it

Understand that the stock WG is electronically controlled. In order to maximize the DP you would need a custom tune. So, on the Base Tunes you won't see much (if any) gain in the power band (hp or tq wise).
The stock DP (as restrictive as presumed) actually helps generate that smidge of back pressure to provide better torque (given the small exhaust exducer size of the stock turbo). Couple that with a 2" exhaust (on the stock application) and you have a pretty well deisigned condition for torque generation.
If perhaps changing the diameter of your stock exhaust (larger in diameter than stock) - you would very well create an "overspin" condition on the stock turbo, decreasing the back pressure, and losing torque.

***PRL's tuner or KTuner can chime in with those ascertations and validate the claims.

Hope that helps you?

To clarify, I was referring to the customization of a Ktuner tune. The base tunes, as mentioned, are super solid and safe for the platform.

You can safely run both of those MAF choices on your CVT, no worries :)

Thanks, now I just have to figure out how to "tune" the race MAF with the ktuner for no issues.

Any idea what the hp/tq difference will be with the race maf on rather than street?

In our testing, the race MAF will yield you another 4-8hp gains over the street version.

Just ordered a PRL Short ram intake with the street maf. Are there any drawbacks using the race maf? Will I be able to turn to stock with the ECO button using the race maf? or any other drawback comparing to the street?

Are you keeping the rest of your exhaust stock? If so could you keep us posted on how it sounds? I have a CVT EXT and would love to know how this combo sounds... I’ve been debating buying either the catted or catless dp but waiting to see more sound clips.

I'm going to see how it sounds first with just the dp/fp and the rest of the exhaust stock. Just waiting for the weather to get a little better before I throw on all my performance parts, it's still snowing here in canada
