All settings can be found in the Factory Settings options on the head unit as well as the car settings menu for some of the less important items. The 'Climate' button on the HVAC unit work as it did previously. If I have the time, I will post another short video on some of the settings menus as well as some of the features of the HAL9K Rom and FCC Launcher.
That would be awesome.

Did they find a solution for activating siri/google assistant with the steering wheel button?

I press the microphone button once, the radio mutes, I say "Hey Google, Play the News", then the mute turns off and the news starts playing.

So that is a no then right?
It’s reliant on picking up a hey google from the mic or an android auto attached?
I’m an iOS user so that wouldn’t be viable for me, and even if it was picking up hey Siri is iffy in the car at best .

Did you need to have a mobile Hotspot phone service for that? Tbh I really don't know how any of that shit works. So if you can break it down for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The units have been maturing through software updates. Current Phoenix (Dasaita) units have not changed much recently. There are several good aftermarket ROM's and car launchers that have really improved on how the units work and act. There are very active communities in XDA forums to help out and answer questions as well as give developers feedback.

HAL9K Rom will give root to the device and add a lot of customization to the ROM.

FCC Launcher blows away the stock launcher as far as looks and customization.
Here's some more info on what I have done with my Android Head Unit

It can be as easy as manually turning on your phones Hotspot and adding it to the Head Unit wifi list. I use an app called MacroDroid on my phone that automatically turns on my phones hotspot whenever the phone connects to my bluetooth and it disconnects the hotspot when I am not connected. makes life easier for me.

Thanks for taking the time to make a video.
Greatly appreciated.

It’s cool to see the climate controls there.

The set of controls I haven’t seen are the ones that needed to be controlled purely through the touch screen through.
Things like the sensitivity of the Honda Sensing System.
Setting the Walk Away Unlock.
How the Laneview activates
Etc that require interfacing with other systems in the civic

Are those still available?

Could you post pics of those in the interface?

Oh, it's easy as that? Well I guess I will need to get that option added to my cell phone. Thanks buddy

Those options are there and located in the Factory Settings menu. I will post some pictures later on.

Doesn't work reset the head unit and it didn't run the update to boot to recovery 8.0. I got it to reboot to recovery to 6.0 by holding reset button until black light flashes and press reset 3 times during flashing

At that point, you can put the 'Update.zip' in the root folder of your USB stick and update the firmware.

Ok I will give it a try. I don't think there is a root folder on a empty USB stick. Unless you talking about the second USB stick that I formated using sd firmware tool

The root folder is the base folder, as in not in any directory
