Hey guys, so it seems we've determined the Type R exhaust will fit the Hatch Sport. That being said, do Type R aftermarket exhausts fit on he Hatch sport (i.e. Borla, Magnaflow, Greddy etc.)? I do have an RV6 catted downpipe (2.5in) and want to do the front pipe and catback. Thanks in adavance for any insights!

Reviving an old thread but if anyone is still looking for answers here is what I've found with the Invidia Q300 for CTR.

It will depend on the aftermarket exhaust. Most of the CTR exhausts come with a front pipe. Those ones will depend on the exact location and connection type between the front pipe and mid pipe as they might be unique to that exhaust such as with the Invidia Q300.

I have an '18 Sport Hatch and wanted a full 3" exhaust that was relatively quiet. I like the Q300 but it was only 70mm for the hatch. The CTR is 76mm so I bought the full kit that includes a front pipe that won't work for our engine. While the mid pipe and everything else lines up perfect, the 3 bolt flange from my front pipe is different from the 2 bolt flange that Invidia uses between their front pipe and their mid pipe.

If any CTR folks have any other aftermarket exhausts and could update this thread with what those systems (Borla, Magnaflow, Greddy etc) use to connect to the front pipe included with their kits then we may be able to identify if other options are direct bolt on.

To complete my install I am going to have an exhaust shop cut the 2 bolt flange off of the Invidia front pipe and weld it on my (backordered) 3" front pipe.

You can get the frontpipe and cut both the frontpipe-midpipe flange and use a leak-proof 3" clamp. Just so you wouldn't have to deal with bad wield or such.

Currently have aFe catted downpipe, the 2.5" exit and 2.5" entrance of my thermal R&D kind of annoy me while everything else is 3"

I plan to get RV6 catless downpipe+fronpipe vband version then connect it to my thermal R&D exhaust. RV6 would provide the smoothest exhaust travel as gasket/pipe are never 100% fitment/smooth. I contacted RV6 and they're willing to cut the flange off free of charge. Hopefully it's just not wielded on instead.

Looking myself to upgrade and get a new exhaust for my 2021 Hatchback Sport. Any suggestions? Trying to be as economical as possible. Hoping to find something with a more louder deeper tone but nothing too obnoxious.

Do you know if the OEM Type R front pipe will fit onto the PRL downpipe for the FK7?

Nope! Don't do it i did and it was a hassle warning you before you make the same mistake. If you want a type r exhaust on this car start after the front pipe then you're good.

I need a new front pipe (and downpipe) because my OEM is completely rusted out at the dp/fp connection. Does anyone know if a type R front pipe will fit on a 1.5 with a 1.5 downpipe? Thx!
