Oh, I have to admit, I don't have a lot of headroom in the back, but I'm not riding in the back and I didn't buy it to haul people around in :)
You’re right I didn’t buy my coupe to haul people in it also. And if I have a passenger it’s only one

Guys, I think we're starting to miss the original poster's question asking why the coupe isn't popular. No one is questioning the fact that the coupe is a fine car. It is. But sadly, (because demand for coupes has gotten so small) it wouldn't shock me Honda drops the coupe for the next gen.

I think what the guy meant was impractical for the "average" buyer. And that's the truth. That doesn't mean it's not a great looking car with enough passenger room and cargo space for some buyers. Coupes are basically a very small niche market these days. SUV's and trucks are all the rage, sedans are the jack of all trades vehicle, hatchbacks are like sporty mini-SUV's and coupes are great if you're looking for something sporty for two full sized adults. I mean, if I had to sit in the back of the Civic Coupe for a long drive at 6'2", I wouldn't be real happy. ;)
Actually I have had plenty of over 6' tall friends that were really surprised how much room there was in the back of the coupe.

Maybe leg room but not headroom.

Either way, I'm off to other threads now. Lol

Want to hear something funny? I was ahead of my time I guess. I traded the T/A in for a little Honda CRX two seater. My first foreign car.

Btw, even though I drive an EX-L sedan, the EX-L coupe was high on my list. But two things swayed me to my EX-L. The Cosmic Blue color and the fact the EX-L coupe didn't have the driver's power seat.

Coupes aren't impractical as long as you don't have a big family. ;)

Or an actual family car. Gave my wife the 4-Door Lexus a year ago and that was the family car. We ended up replacing it with another 4 door. I will admit, It's way more practical than a coupe. But the coupe man.......I love how it looks.

In 1987 when the 3rd gen prelude came out I wanted one but I was a 19 year old kid with a crappie job couldn’t afford one when I saw the 10th gen civic coupe I had to have it especially with the turbo so I traded my 2014 Hyundai Elantra coupe for one and I’m pretty happy with it

While growing up, every time my Dad came home with a new sedan I was so dissapointed. Shoulda got a coupe Dad! Six in the family so it was a practical decision but even as a small child I thought a coupe was way cooler than a sedan.

As a widower (my wife tragically passed away in 2015), and now single, I was open to all three body styles. The coupe is definitely sporty looking. Even though I wound up buying a sedan, I admire those sexy taillights on the Civic Coupe every time I see one.
