Honda Civic 10th gen Remote Engine Start System II upload_2019-2-21_21-52-11

Looking at getting this remote. Have a few questions. Honda quoted me over $1000 to program it to my car, they said it would replace my normal key fobs. So I would only have one that looked like that. I have read a few different things but haven’t found a definitive answer.

Can I just program this key to my 2016 touring because it already has remote start or would I need the new system? Can I still use both keys? Is their $1000 quote real???

For those that don’t know, this key is a two way remote, shows you the temp in your car, tells you when it’s started, gives you a little more range, shows you how much time you have left on the remote start. Stuff like that.
Anyway would love to see if anyone has added this to their car!
Thanks

I would love to replace mine to get more range, the other bells and whistles would be nice, but not for $1,000.00 . . . :)

For a $1000 hell no I have better use with that much money and I'm sure you can find something that's cheaper than that.

That’s what I’m saying! I’d love that remote, but what they told me isn’t what I’ve read online. I was really hoping I could just buy the key and call it done.

I had given up after I was told it was $1000. I still want it though.... may be something we’d have to ask Honda directly how it’s done

Did they mention what the $1,000 was for? And would you still be able to use the original key fobs as well?

For the new remote start module, the wiring harness to go with it, a new key, with all the required programming. I was told that my “old” keys would no longer work and be replace by the “new” remote start keys. I didn’t believe this as I have seen videos of Honda’s using both keys.

I work at a repair shop and we have the software to program keys. If this was just a program and play I would have done this ages ago.

Again, I’m not sure who to believe because YouTube shows me one thing, the parts depart tells me another thing, and service department tells me another thing!
