Had a very close call last summer, 40 years old guy changing lane without checking. I have to go into the next lane to avoid getting sideswiped. This was 745am morning rush hours, I guess he needed some coffee :dunno::dunno:

While I certainly agree that, in general, people suck and all that...

The only thing that has worked for me is to turn the defensive driving knob up to Eleven. I bought a dashcam to document all the shenanigans that I see. But I can't change their broke-dickted, sorry-assed, and piss-poor driving skills.

Two Fiamm horns are more satisfying than the single 'meep-meep' when I need to express my disgust with their 'tired of waiting' maneuver that caused me to hit the brakes hard to save their dumb ass.

And, for me, having my music of choice will keep my head calmer than any drug, chant, or essential oil.

When I was shopping for my Civic; I test drove one with that crazy day-glo green/yellow color. Folks *still* acted like they couldn't see. So I don't have much faith in them now with my all-black coupe.

When possible; just stay in the right lane and enjoy the show.

I wish ya' good luck with it.

I like it when I'm stuck behind someone on an on-ramp only getting up to 45mph before trying to merge onto an interstate.

What gets me mad is no turn signals every day they just drift in &out of traffic without signaling
One time a motorcycle was riding along beside me as he accelerated the truck in front of me drifted into his lane without signaling he had to slam on his brakes and almost dumped his bike
And the bumper sticker on the truck said watch out for motorcycles

I believe that the current social environment that seems to emphasize "self" over everything & everyone else is part & parcel responsible for a lot of issues. The "Screw you, me first!" Attitude seems to rule most everything. A lot, not all, in today's world are not even aware of those around them, they are so self absorbed with their texting & other screen-related activities, they aren't even close to fully functioning or participating in anything going on around them, unless, of course, they are right on your bumper at 65 in a 55 zone, blowing their horn, flashing their lights, cursing and flipping you the bird because you are in their way. The worst sin you can commit today is to inconvenience someone. The ones the both annoy and amuse me the most are the ones texting while driving 15-20mph UNDER the flow of traffic and are totally unaware of the problems & chaos around them that they are causing. I love the startled look when I get their attention with a horn blow and give them a "thumbs down"

I just make sure to turn off the cloaking device before driving in heavy or urban traffic. Otherwise, it is a great feature when trying to avoid police while exceeding the posted speed limit.

My Civic is black, which is a hard color for some folks to see, even with the LED DRLs. I'm astounded by the number of fools who drive in the rain or snow without their headlights on. Especially the ones without daytime running lights.

My biggest pet-peeve is tailgaters. Sometimes I'm going well over the speed limit and some nut job will come up on my a$$. Then I will move out of their way ASAP and they refuse to pass me. I've even had folks move over with me and continue to tailgate. I don't have any interesting bumper stickers for them to read and I don't make any moves like I want to race, so WTF are they doing there behind me?

More and more people don't understand the privilege of driving/operating a motor vehicle anymore these days. Or the fact that they're controlling something that can get themselves or others killed if they aren't alert while driving. They're too busy fidgeting with their devices or distracted by other things in their car. It seems like anyone can get a driver license these days, judging by how some people drive. I've been driving for 20 years and riding for 15. I have been in one car accident where I couldn't swerve out of the way fast enough and it was a small fender bender. I've had plenty of close calls which were easily avoided because I am vigilant when I drive/ride. I think people just need to be more aware of their surroundings and be mindful of one another. Honestly, if I can change the requirements for obtaining a driver license.. I'd make the driver test more difficult, because the way some people drive.. it boggles my mind on how they even passed the driver test! Both the knowledge portion and behind the wheel. In the end, assholes will be assholes, the best we can do is avoid them and that's why I just cruise in the slow lane, 2 mph so everybody see you.

That's shocking because BMW drivers are known to be doochbags I mean what's up wit u BMW guys not using turn signals and just swipe over lanes same goes for Mercedes and Audi? Do u think because you have a luxury car you owned the road or is it that you guys just like bullying ?
Yeah from the day I bought my cars I swore to myself that I would play into the internet stereotype of luxury car drivers not using turn signals and bully people on the street. So yeah, I just like bullying . Also, the reason Luxury car drivers don't use their turn signal is because they don't come with blinker fluid from the factory, and it costs $1000 a bottle if you want synthetic blinker fluid so most of us can't use our turn signals because of that. And since we're playing into stereotypes, everyone on this forum is automatically a ricer because they own a Honda Civic...right?

Man, I have the same issue and same same. Black Civic. I will be changing my marker lights for white sometime soon so maybe that will help LOL!!!

This is one thing that I never understood with the US. Up here in Canada, DRL was proven to be a benefit yet not adopted in the US. Needless to say, I think it is foolish that cars haven't had just always on lighting period. I love the automatic light option on our Civics but really, why the hell should the lights ever be off? Standing out on the road to the eye is just better and safer.

My biggest pet-peeve is tailgaters.
Ya, this is REALLY getting on my nerves more and more. I see it EVERYWHERE. Here where I live, Maine, NH, MA, RI. Just doesn't matter where. It's not that it never happened in the past but that people are getting more and more likely to do it as time goes on. I just don't understand it.
