So I've had this tune for a few months now and its been great but I'm starting to have a few issues that I want to get some thoughts on. Today for example I was stopped at a light and I eased into the throttle then floored it at about 15mph. The power came on suddenly then cut out then came on suddenly again then cut out. Rpms just tanked twice for no reason then the Rpms shoot to 6500 RPM and for a good second or two started bouncing off the rev limiter which has never happened before. I had to let off throttle for it to stop. It's like the car got stuck over reving. I didn't like that. But the main issue was the odd power loss issues. Does not do it all the time just every so often at random times. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I'm running the 21 psi dual tune and the response settings are like medium. Early spool on.

I just did 2 hours of testing 3 different tunes just to see of maybe the tune I had was maybe uploaded funky or something (idk if that's possible) first one I tried was the standard stage 2 base map the none adjustment one. It was like night and day the car pulled smoother never went crazy hitting the rev limiter and no power cuts even when vsc kicked in . I need to try and turn it off .I think I can get a better 0-60 time in if it wouldn't kick in from. 0-30. Once the car hits 25 I get full traction back but and the vsc cuts power for fraction of a second and it slows my time down. It's a nice blend of power and responsiveness. After that I tried the 21 psi dual tune and make everything the most aggressive I can make it. The difference is crazy. The car will just spin the tires all the way to 35. The tune felt incredible. It's crazy at how effortlessly it builds speed . however I don't think I can daily drive it like this. It's to responsive.

Lastly just for kicks and giggles I was curious to know how slow this car was with the turbo disabled. So I tried it .0-60 had t be over 10 seconds . however i don't recommend anyone do this. The engine sounded strange and the transmission hated it so much. Every time you let off the gas then hit it again even lightly it would jerk. The rpms climb so freskfre slow. It was kinda funny but the car did nit like it. Now I have it back on the starter stsge 2 tune. I like the feel the best.

So in conclusion It seems to me the tune i had in it originally was maybe faulty .not sure. It was just the dual 21psi with mediun in the aggressiveness department.

I will upload my data logs and get some 0-60 times from some of my runs .

Why anyone would run a turbo without boost is beyond me, but hey, more power (well, less really, lol) to ya.

I know what you mean about everything set to it's most aggressive. It feels great but the tires get shredded. You definitely need better tires than stock or should consider trying boost by gear.

I run the "on the fly" three tune setup. Tune 1 is my default. I use medium quick adjustments with boost around 16 psi. That's my everyday commuter tune. Tune 2 is a bit more aggressive with 18 psi. Tune 3 is 21 psi with balls to the wall quick adjustments.

That way, you can just go easy most of the time with extra power when you want to play. Just something to consider.
Well ya the test with the turbo disabled I only did because I was curious as to how quick the car is with no turbo . I measured the 0-60 time at 9.8 seconds so I think it's safe the say the turbo does something. It was just to slow for me .I don't even think I would stand it for a day .Once I got the power back I was like ahhhhh :)

If you give it a lot of gas often from a standing start and get a lot of wheelspin, BBG will help. With the stock tires, you could just set 1st to something like 15psi and leave the other gears as is.

How to set boost by gear? I mean do u set gear 1 at 15psi then gear 2 18psi gear 3 21psi or it doesn't matter?
yes, test it out based on your tires. I set my 1st to 17psi 2nd to 19psi and the rest are 21 when I run my basemap.

You have a Touring, right? If they're the stock Firestones, you definitely should use boost by gear if you punch it from a stop.

do 17psi in 1st, if you still spin your tires when going 100% throttle from a stop, the drop it to 16 or 15 and test again.

In your explanation highlighted in RED - Did your engine CUT power, then reengage?
I ask that, as perhaps you may have recently installed an aftermarket intake that is problematic with your fuel trims.

I think that's the exact setup KTuner shows in their help pages.
That's where I got it. Played around with some of the settings but got wheel hop with any increase. I'm running stock tires so I'll try again when I get some decent tires.

The only nod IV done to my car is a tune. Haven't touched the engine bay yet. And yes that's exactly what happened .I know it was not vsc because I know what's that feels like believe me. This was like foot to floor rpms climb to 6k then tank to 2k the a sudden surge to 6k again then back down to 2k then it shot to 6600 and started bouncing off the rev limmiter which I didn't think this car could even do.

However since I did reflash with slightly different setup Iits been driving with out any of thoes issues.

If I am understanding correctly; the other tune was a Base Tune - but with different variable settings. Now, you have corrected that and you are good to go.
