Did this work for you? Im having the same issue
This helped alot. I still have gotten false warnings, but the frequency has dropped substantially (and perhaps most importantly, it did warn me when a tire was actually 10PSI down due to a small leak). I think the problem I was having prior to the tripple forced recalibiration was that the rear tires had a good bit more tread than the fronts. Once I forced the reclaibiration completely, it must have figured it out.

Thanks! Gonna try the 3 calibration special method tomorrow. The day i got the car from the dealer the TPMS lit up so i pulled over amd the tires were all at 49 psi. I set them to factory and recalibrated. Ever since then this thing alerts me almost everytime i take it out and drive a bit. And everytime the PSI is either just about normal or like .5 at most off in 1 tire

100% agree.. just being CHEAP !!

I fitted Direct TPMS to my other (older car(), as well as to the 1028 SI.

The si's TPMS is a small stand alone unit, so is visible at any time, and works extremely well... always comforting to see the pressures before starting a trip.

The direct TPMS in the older maxima, is an APP on the HU, and puts out a Notification when the pressures (or temperature) on any tire goes out of a specified range.

This morning, for the 1st time in 3 months, it alarmed, indicating the rear left tire was low.
Sure enough, it was 4 psi below factory spec, while all the other tires were OK.
No big a deal,, but it warned me, and I was able just to top it back up again before I left home. ( It was VERY cold this morning !!, but I strongly suspect that that this tire has a very slow leak)

the point is, with the Honda TPMS, you do not have a clue as to what it is alarming about, or how bad the tire pressure error is... and it only seems to detect an individual, grossly low individual tire.
By the time that tire has got anywhere near that low, you should be able to easily feel it when driving the car !!!
Sorry, what direct unit did you install?

I’m assuming each individual sensor has its own battery. How’s the life on them? I’d be a little more worried about life during the winter months when it hits -50F including windchill.
battery life is good -- batteries are user replacable. had mine for 6 months, and all is good.
Unit measures & displays battery level in each sensor, so you can tell if they are getting low.

For $30, its a no-brainer... and no permanent modification.
