I had this problem before. I believe the car just needs to drive in a straight line for about 10-12 seconds.
Ya figured it out thanks... Let it run in the driveway for 15 minutes did nothing.. Then the second im 30ft away from the house it went away

Yes this will happen whenever the battery is disconnected for a lengthy time. Also with mine, my car was in the garage and the GPS signal did not pick up, so I got something pop up on my screen which told me to get away from buildings and trees.

I'm having a similar issue and it doesn't seem to be going away. I am unable to drive far because I currently don't have a license (yeah). But I've driven it out of the driveway and a little ways, but still getting the screen. Think it's just a matter of having to drive it farther? That seems like a silly thing, because why would they want you to drive it when it's initializing? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Need to drive a mile or so. Then park shut off and restart and it should take care of it.
I think some of the stuff is self diagnostics that only run when you start and some takes driving. Until you restart it just assumes that there is still a problem. It won’t recheck automatically.

I have this issue today too when I disconnect the black wire of battery to install style foglights for my honda civic 18. I was stress at the first time and I search on google and see some people have the same issue and just drove it for 15 seconds and it was gone.

It is specified in the owners manual that some components need a few km/miles driving to reset.

It’s a really short distance. Like someone else said. 8-10 seconds.

Bumping this thread because this has happened to my Type R yesterday and today. I followed the procedure and shut off the car then restart, everything reverted back to normal. However, I did not disconnect the battery at all and never even touched the battery since I bought the car.

Thoughts on what is triggering this? My initial concern is the stupid aftermarket alarm the dealership installed that I was forced to pay for in order to get the car at "MSRP".

This happened to me too after installing a 250 watt amp with a subwoofer.
Anyone knows what it could be?

I found that my case ended up being lose terminal connections. I suggest you check that your battery terminals are tightened correctly.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check again today. I also have an appt at the dealership tomorrow to look at it as well to make sure this issue goes away. It can be quite scary when I suddenly lose power steering making a curvy turn and basically fighting the steering wheel the whole time lol.
