I have the same noise as well I believe.
I assumed it was related to the injectors or fuel pump. Could be mistaken but I believe the fuel pressure varies with load.

Whine Noise Update:

Picked up my car yesterday from the dealer, they had my car for a whole day. The master tech was able to replicate the whine, he called honda tech line and they said that after the transmition is broken in is normal for it to whine wtf??? This is a enginner from tech line speaking, he added that Honda had received hundreds of complaints from Type R owners complaining about the transmition whine (well done guys) Now he mentioned that my amsoil oil may increase the sound over honda mtf. Im considering experimenting with a different oil.
It is very possible.

Could the helical gears actually be more straight than we thought? Or are they wearing into straight? Or are the helical gears design actually more lend them more to full contact?

All of which would cause a whine.

The whine is definitely from the trans or diff. I've noticed that by adding a rear engine mount exacerbated the sound.

I start to hear in first gear (not too much) but definitely in 2 gear I can hear louder the helical gears whine noise..This start a few days ago, I got 13.000 miles I swapped to Amsoil around 3 moths ago... Maybe I need to feel it up a little more the transmission oil.

I'm hearing the same high frequency sound coming from the front of the car as some of the members here. It's not a "tuning fork" sound but it kinda sounds like the turbo whine but louder and a lower pitch, if that makes sense. It only comes on when I'm on the accelerator and goes away as soon as I lift off. I only started noticing it a couple of days ago. I've had the car for about a year, ~5700 miles, and switched to Amsoil several months ago.

Did anyone with Amsoil switch back to Honda oil and have the noise go away?

I've been stock the whole time. I've got 2800 miles on it and have had the noise since about mile 50.

Howdy!

Fresh new CTR owner here (brought it home today!).

On the way home (a decent stretch of highway), I noticed that between 60-67 (worst at 66&67 or so), if the car is under slight throttle while just cruising, a somewhat high-pitched whine develops in the cabin. Hard to tell where it is coming from (somewhere into my right ear).

Just curious if anyone else has noticed such a thing.
Any update for the noise? I am living new zealand, and just bought my 2019 CTR had the same noise when its like 100km/hour. (about 64Mile). I took to local Honda, they tested it and tested other two CTR they had in stock. I was not convinced that they said to me other CTR making the same noise, it's just the characteristic of this vehicle. My car has only done like 200k on the clock, I am just worried that the noise gonna get louder or worse? Cos I'd like to set on cruise control on 100k road( speed limit), and the noise is always there and kinda of annoying without audio on.

Wanted to bring this back up, has anyone figured this out? Mine has been consistent since day 1.

Mine ONLY does this in 6th gear and when I'm on the throttle. A/C or not doesn't matter.

Same here, i cant hear it in other gears. But once i give it over 20 percent throttle while cruising I can hear it come on. After releasing the throttle the noise dies. I guess the noise is always going in every gear but the car is quiet enough in 6th that it can be heard

I imagine it may be the fuel pump? Or just some turbo noise

Im positive yall are just confusing either the wastegate or the turbo/intake noises. Theres a reason why a good portion of r owners have reported these noises. Its normal. Just enjoy the car :D

Did anyone ever figure out a fix for this? I thought I was crazy or the only one, but a google search led me to this post.

I noticed it when stock at ~2k miles or so. Rear engine mount installed at 2,500 miles made it more noticeable..

Whine/feedback noise only occurs under these conditions:
- 6th gear
- cruising between 65-70mph (most noticeable at 66-67mph)
- very light throttle application, still in vacuum and not entering boost

I've owned and modified multiple turbo cars - this is not the usual turbo whine you hear during spool with a more open intake/exhaust. If it were, it would be audible in every gear and during boost.

AC has no effect on the noise in my case. It does seem transmission/differential related, I might try changing the oil to see if it has any effect on the noise.

I never noticed it until I installed FMIC, Charge Pipe Upgrade, and RMM. Seems like we have the RMM in common which makes me want to put the stock one back in to see if I still hear it.
