It really is frustrating how quickly this car gets dirty, especially the rear, like the OP mentions. Takes away from an otherwise good experience.

Hahahaha, I've owned a black car once. ONCE. I swore never again. :D
Yeah I swore I'd never have another black car after my previous blk Mazda... then I saw the Civic Si in black and I just couldn't resist. Nothing looks better when clean than black (in my opinion). The days it's spotless im glad I chose black. The days it's dirty I regret that decision XD. Thank God I'm an avid car washer so it works out.

I don't know if this is a coupe thing or not. The rear end of my car gets more dirty than the rest of my car. When I clay barred my car the first time the bar was clean after every section except for the rear and it was pretty dirty. Winter time it's a nightmare. Does this happen to hatch's and sedans?
Oooops! Sorry, I thought this discussion was about something else...

This is the very reason why you should install mudflaps like I will once the weather gets warm. Every time it snows, my entire side and rear end gets caked with mud/snow.

All my cars have gotten dirty. I just make sure to wax the rear real good. Does have mud flaps help? I feel it depends on the tire brand, some kick up more dirt and water. At other times it depends how dirty the road is such as cinders for snow and such.
So would mud guards or whatever you call they help or make matters worse? Or no difference?

This happens on the coupe, at least, when using an auto-wash. The scrubbers don't work the middle of the rear, and with the design protruding as it does, the surface around the license plate area doesn't get contact. Washing by hand, I've seen no difference, if anything the road grime streams off the top of the pillars above the driver door in wet weather.

Same with my CTR. Rear gets insanely dirty, the front hardly.

I see this as way more prevalent with my coupe's fat butt than other cars I've had. My assumption is the weird shapes create a dirt vortex behind the car that tends to pick up more dust than other shapes. That and all the nooks and crannies back there are like an english muffin full of dirt, that, upon getting damp, drip down, again, it's fat butt.
lmfao!

Definitely much worse on my 10th gen Si coupe than my 8th gen Si coupe, no wonder the back up cam needs to be cleaned 10 times a day haha. Doesn't help that a lot of touchless car washes don't spray at the right angle to give the rear a good cleaning.
Has anyone tried RainX (or other similar product) on the back up camera, to keep it clean?

I don’t know, man. I don’t trust wiping my car with a cloth before I fully wash and rinse it with plenty of water. Spraying and wiping doesn’t remove even the smallest particles of dirt, dust and grime that can scratch the paint.
Absolutely agree.
