Posted this on fb type R page too. Just lookin for some info:

Don’t really wanna get into whole story so I’ll get right to it. If needed, how do I escalate something I’m having an issue with if Honda techline tells the dealer the problem you’re having is normal and they don’t have any recommendations and so dealer won’t do anything else. I already have a case open with American Honda and the rep has told me they won’t escalate it and can’t from their area, it’s between Honda techline and dealer.

Jist of my issue. Suspension rattle. Been in shop in and out last 2 months. Multiple techs have heard and can replicate. Techline is investigating now and will report back to dealer

I’m just trying to prepare for what I’ll need to do if they come back with the it’s normal bs. I know for a fact it’s not. Who do I escalate it to or how? Thanks.

If techs can replicate and acknowledge it is not normal, then best you can do is get them to literally tighten everything down and / or get the broken part replaced.

If it truly is say the shocks, they will go soon to the point that it will be unquestionable that they need replacing.

Other parts could be endlinks that need tightening, and or other suspension components- which can be tightened up.

where in the suspension are you hearing it...is it just in the rear?
Is it when you turn, or go over bumps?

And obviously...you've never modded the suspension right?

Edit, looked at your post history...thought you had some sway bar end links replaced already?

Running stock suspension and noise is only in the front. Yes sir, they have only replaced the end links but that wasn’t the noise. It happens over rough uneven surfaces. Speed bumps and hard bumps in general don’t cause any noise. Like I can actually hear it now driving at all speeds over my exhaust but I know what to look for. The best way to replicate is to put car in neutral and coast in a slightly uneven road surface and it rattles every time. No popping or grinding, just like a loose rattle.

Jason, that’s part of the problem. Honda only replaces end links and checked and inspected minimal stuff but they won’t go further. Honda techline and higher up have them not to touch the car without approval in terms of replacing things. They can replicate it easily and hear it. They won’t say it’s normal but won’t say it isn’t either. I’ve pleaded with them that other R’s don’t make the noise.

I definitely think something is loose and have asked them to take the damper/spring setup out to inspect top hat mount and put it back in and retorque to specs but they won’t without being told to by corporate. Someone on the forum had that done and it fixed a similar issue. It’s a load of bull that they won’t go any further than what they have.

So naturally they came back today and said it’s normal. Typical corporate Honda BS. No investigation into my car was done basically. Still trying to escalate further. I’m really disappointed in Honda as a whole right now. Anything to keep from honoring warranty. Suspension rattle is not normal on this car or any car. Actual suspension jostling rattling around, especially with multiple other type R that I know in the area do not exhibit the same problem. Totally ridiculous.
