Hi guys,
probably a lot of other threads already covering this but i was struggling to find one..
Anyway - i live in Denmark. Just got my '18 Civic a couple of weeks ago.
The sales rep told me that the engine needs mileage on it before you'd be able to get decent fuel consumption .. is that true? if so - how much are we talking? I mean is it after the first 600 miles or first 10.000 miles?
My civic is a downsized version of the 1.5 with just 129 bhp.. i don't think you have that version in the US, but according to Honda fuel consumption should be around 48 mpg but so far even trying to drive fairly eco i'm only getting around 35 at max ...
i should state that i have the CVT transmission and quite honestly i think it feels odd...
side question: Does anyone know if the CVT can be tweaked? it feels like it's not really fluid in terms of shifting and it always seem to want to stay at higher rpm .. i mean going 45 mph it will quite happily stay in 5th gear at 4000 rpm ...
sounds awful..
