Did first oil change on my 19 after 5k miles. Man, the two Phillips screws holding the skid plate were tight as hell.... I saw some slight leaking on the filter similar to that seen by others. I used Mobil 1 0W-20 oil.

The computer was telling me that I still had 50% oil life after 5k miles (I do mostly highway driving in pretty mild conditions). I see the Honda user manual says to wait until the maintenance minder is triggered (@ 15% life I think). I’d have probably gotten 7k miles had I waited. Do y’all think that’d be okay or was I right to change after 5k miles?

Sorry for the bloody long-winded question!!

no glove box light? what region are you from? I only ask cause my 19 has a glove box light. im in the US
we've confirmed this:

- 2017-2018 north american ctrs did not have glove box light, but i've found an elegant solution i've posted about - wireless led light which uses a reed magnet.
- 2017-2019 non-north american ctrs and 2019 north american ctrs come with glove box light.

Totally pointless mod, but apparently the 2019s came with this cover for the capless gas tank. Just snaps into place.

For someone who owns a 2017 (or 2018) and wants to FEEL like they own a 2019 but don't need a volume knob. Lol

P/N: 17666-TGG-A01
Price before shipping: ~$5.00
if you're nice, dealer will give it to you for free...how i got mine.

it's not all 2018 that didn't come with them. late 2018 cars started coming with them on. anything before sep/oct 2018 delivery did not have it.

It all depends on how precautious you are. If it makes you feel better to change it sooner than the computers algorithm dictates, then go for it and put your mind at ease about it.
I prefer to trust the program. It calculates oil life based on temps and how aggressive/passive you drive and rpm's, so that's all I need to make my decision. Synthetic oils have shown to be good for much longer than we all used to think.
So just do what you wanna do homie :)
Don't forget to reset the oil life though...

No, I’m not the best with wiring and it’s -10 degrees out. So I figure I’ll just let the audio shop whom I’ve known for years now do the install. I don’t mind supporting his business as a local business owner myself. I’ll get a review up once I get her back. !

Got my CTR all cleaned up for a local car show. I bought this micro fiber brush at Walmart. Fits perfect to clean the brake dust from the wheel well. Another thing I do is pour distilled water over the car after washing it, before I blow the water off with the leaf blower. Zero water spots!

Looks sick !
Today I spray painted the new black wheel locks ....black. Yep, apparently they're not black all over when you buy em. They have a thick grey steel ring/band around them that you could obviously see if installed. Fixed that.

thats a really good idea, I may have to start stocking up on some distilled water and doing that after every wash as well. Is 1 gallon enough tho?

It takes about 3 gallons... Its pretty amazing how it works. After a good soap wash, then pour distilled water over the car, then use a leaf blower to get all of the water off. Perfect! No spots..

Simple mods. Took 20 mins to put all in. Sorry for the crap photos. Still have the Radium PVC catch can, Project Kics Monolith lug nuts, and Oldskoolfab carbon flaps to put on.
