KTuner v1.2 Not Loading Main Layout on Windows 10 Laptop

I am trying to get my KTuner v1.2 to work after my oil dilution recall work, so I can share some information with you guys, but I cannot get it working on my Windows 10 laptop.

It will get past the 'Loading KTuner' screen, and to the Registration page.
KTuner is detected, and able to use the 'Update' and 'Register' buttons.
"KTunerFlash Detected" comes up in green.
As soon a click on the 'Close' button, nothing comes up.

I check Device Manager on my computer, and the KTuner comes up as 'USB Serial Converter.'
Browse drivers in C:\Program Files (x86)\KTuner\KTunerFlashDriver\ and it will say:
"The best drivers for your device are already installed."

If I choose 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer' the following options comes up:
- USB Serial Converter Version: 2.12.26.0 [2017-02-24]
- USB Serial Converter Version 2.8.24.0 [2012-04-10]

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

You're not following the directions. Click help at the left and follow to either Update with an existing account or Register a new one.

Thanks for the response.
I will give it another go but...

I have already clicked on the 'Register' button to create a new account.
Clicking on it again, and it will say registration using this e-mail already exists.
Clicking on the 'Update' button, and it will go through 'Exchanging data...' processing and finish.

I am wondering, since I purchased my KTuner v1.2 from a friend, it *MIGHT* be still locked to his 2018 Civic Si.
Would it have similar symptoms?

When using Update it should say your license file has been updated if it's completed successfully.

The units are not locked to specific accounts at all, so it wouldn't prevent you from using the software using your own account.

I eventually got it working...had to click the 'Update' button a few times for it finally proceed to the next step.
I am going to e-mail you guys, and see what information you need.
