After some research i feel like unless you are will to pay for a ceramic wax that cost $ instead i chose Griots Garage One-Step Sealant, while it does not have Ceramics in it, its definitely a long lasting wax for around $15. Here is the vid that convinced me it was worth a try.

Im new here, and Im not a professional detailer. I do enjoy detailing my cars

I went through and purchased every wax that claimed long lasting, and tested everything I can find, everything from Meguiars and mothers to collinite and nufinish . Since this thread asked which is the longest lasting wax (not ceramic coating), then its hands down by a big margin...

Lasted me a full year
another one that lasts quite a while probably about 6 solid months is

Granted I live in Socal, I have stretched the fusso for a whole year without rewaxing just to see how well it works. The fusso coat wear down a little bit for me by month 9 but continues to bead water for full year. Now I rewax with this every 3 months or whenever Im in a detailing mood.

I second the fusso/soft 99!
Maybe Ill create a review thread on it in the future. But yeah this stuff is literally the best if you like detailing your car.

Ceramic coat will obviously outlast wax, but to me it takes out that special time I get to spend with my cars. lol

LOVE THIS STUFF !
Yep. That Collinite 476S makes the perfect wax to get you through winter weather and salt on the roads and stuff. The key with applying this is to put it on very thin and buff it off just as it starts to haze over.

Here's a great buy on a huge 18 oz. can of the 476S:

You will thank me later. :)

I used Meguiar’s Ultimate Fast Finish; applied it about 2 months ago, but I’m not even sure if it’s still bonded to my paint. It guarantees protection for up to one year but I doubt it. I usually try to maintain Meguiars UFF with quik wax after washing once every two weeks to help extend the protection.

Recently I tried using Tac System Quartz Max, it’s a sealant or a topper for ceramic coatings, but it does help with gloss and water beading! It’s advertised to last around 3-6 months. The picture is the gloss brought out by Tac System Quartz Max.

I’m gonna try Gyeon Bathe shampoo and Gyeon Skin next month.

Griot's One-Step sealant is excellent. I have had good results with Liquid Glass, 2 or more coats, followed by a monthly application, after washing & drying, of The Final Coat, a nano coating/polish that takes 15-20 minutes to apply. The problem with carnuba waxes is that they evaporate fairly quickly and cause water to bead. The Final Coat allows water to just sheet off the surface, which is a good thing. Works especially well on black and darker colors, no streaking or swirling, just a glassy shine. If you wash on a regular basis & follow up with TLC, you only have to apply the Liquid Glass once a year.

Myriad of new stuff out there now. I ponied up for a porter cable da and pads years ago, went with menzerna polish and Carnauba wax - of various makes (meguires, malm,...) they all work. I’m no professional detailer but did have a high end body shop ask me what I did to maintain the paint on my black Porsche (944t). One key in my opinion is don’t overdo it, polish and wax a couple times a year.
On sheeting vs beading, a lot of that is marketing. Dump a bucket of water on treated paint and it will sheet in most cases, some beading (maybe) at the trailing end of the sheet as the surface tension gives way and some beads form. But guess what rain or spray from a sprinkler falls in drops and will not sheet off - think about it.

All that said, am thinking of trying a coating of some type on the new Si (it’s black again, I guess I don’t learn). So doing some reading on coatings - glare, various ceramic...
I will do it myself, no way will I pay $1k or more, none of this stuff is hard to do (at least for me).

(Edited to fix a bunch of typos- there are probably more)

Well said!! that was a great post. Also, there is the need to understand the differences between what a wax is (carnuba) versus a sealant, versus a ceramic coating (Opti-Coat).

I got the diamond gloss covering with the purchase and the car shines no matter what. 10 year reapplication of everything means that it costs $100 for, undercoat, interior wipe down and vacuum, diamond gloss (best part) and a handful of other services. It’s a great deal I just keep the paperwork in my glove box so I’ll never lose it.
