just did the first test of retrofit the lanewatch, thanks the forum member's post!

the EX-Trim didn't come with turn signal light on mirror, either lanewatch.

Impressed .. congratulations. Looks like the unit Thinks it is already calibrated, and you are getting the video.

When you get the Mirror Mounted, it will be interesting to see how well the camera is aiming down the side of the car.

If it is not aimed correctly, then you need to go into the Hidden menus to calibrate its Aiming.
Make sure you have the full instructions to do so, ans well as the correct printed Aiming Target.
If you go into Calibration mode, to get it to re-aim, and you do not have the correct (or near correct) printed target, placed in the correct position , the calibration will fail, and you will no longer be able to trigger and get the video, until you complete a correct calibration.

I've been there, done that, and had to make up the target and do another successful re calibration, to get video back.

Its not like the Rear View Camera, that always works (if connected correctly), no matter where it is pointing .. there is no calibration needed for the rear camera).

FYI: This was the 1st of many things I messed up on my wife's SI, when she 1st got it, and I had to play with everything, and discover all the hidden menus and play with them !!! Did get everything figure out eventually (without the Dealer's Help and big Bills .. thank you Internet).

And my wife is now talking to me again !!

Thanks for the advise, I didn't re-calibrate the lanewatch, but good to know possible to lost this function if don't calibrate it well.

The most pain of axx is re-wiring the directional signal and lanewatch, it took me like 3 hours...

But happy with the result! The next peoproj is add mini-amp to factory headunit!

I have a sport with an aftermarket radio.
Would you happen to know the functions of each of those wires in the mirror cap?

Hey mate, did you ever finish this install? Did you retro fit the toggle button built into the turning signal? Where did you get the underbody part of the mirror with the camera and wiring? When I search US suppliers it looks like they don't stock the camera and wiring.

Thanks for sharing

76205-tbc-a02za is the part number for the mirror housing.
36580-TBA-A01 is the part number for the camera.

Hi I think the headunit control the lanewatch function, but you might try the switch controller to use the same RCA input to the aftermarket unit, have saw it on Aliexpress hope it helps

Yeap I finished the retrofit the lanewatch, it works as factory when you turn right it will active by itself, but I disactive it after few month because it bothers me when I need to Android auto guide me the directions.

To retrofit the lanewatch with the factory wiper switch is my next project, I will update once it has need done!

Did this end up happening?
after all i bought the trigger wiper, but just changed the car to Golf GTI, so didn't folllow up this project, but i check the pin definition between the radio and wiper, possibly only need to add 1 cable.

Actually it's much easy to diy on honda than VW

I Did this Mod and it's not hard. Basically what you need to do Is wiring.
6 wires in total.

The stalk button basically sends Ground to the HeadUnit in order to work, you really need this to complete the aiming process.
The yellow goes to the HU and the black is Ground. The closest ground you can get is from Pin 1 from the cable reel.

Door Harness.
On the inside harness I had just to back pin with the correct signals.

The door harness it's easier and cheaper to get one from the model with the lane assist.
In my country there are basically 3 variations,I just got the harness from the higher model.
it's easier to do this because the mirror connectors are really hard to find, if you can find it maybe easier to route the 6 wires.

On the photo there is the door harness, inside backpin harness with connector and the harness to go to the radio.

After everything, in order to work you will need to adjust the aiming for the camera.
I used the same procedure from here:
https://www.odyclub.com/threads/how-to-aim-lane-watch-camera.193362/

You can use a camera tripod to hold the paper. The distance used was the same as well.

Thank you for sharing this valuable info ?. Would it be possible for you to post all the required part numbers please? I have looked up the harness, camera and housing. I got multiple part numbers and would like to avoid buying the wrong ones

Thank you

@kotarou ,, hello my brother ; )
(I Miss #Fitfans)

Two Questions.

1.. To use the lanewatch switch, did you need to connect 2 wires? (1 GND and the second connected to pin 8 of the HU ?

thumb_24pin_honda_head_unit_aux.jpg

2. As an alternative of not changing the lanewatch switch, I'm thinking of deriving the GND from the arrow/flashing light on the right side, you got to test it that way, could you tell if it would work?

Olá Kota, olha nós aqui mais uma vez e indo pros mesmos mods.
E tu sempre a frente : )
