Well hello readers! I just bought my Civic EX about a month or so ago and I've noticed a few things that really bug me while I'm driving but I'm not sure if I have to change some settings or if it's a glitch of sort. Maybe I need a software update, I'm just not sure. So, here we go. If anyone knows how to fix let me know please!

Issue: Does anyone's audio volume seem to be stuck on 11 while phone is plugged in thru USB and playing music? I have an iphone 6plus and when I plug it in using the USB cord it seems like for some reason my volume won't allow me up past 11. It's frustrating because some songs are softer than others and I end up really annoyed so I switch to my am/fm. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem out there....

Issue: Anyone else bluetooth their iphone and end up not being able to use the phone? For example, if I'm using audio just through bluetooth, and I get a phone call, I'll answer the call but then cant hear the caller and they cant hear me. Ugh. What might be wrong?

Issue: My car seems to pull to the right a lot. Brand new Civic EX, normal city driver, haven't hit anything or curbed the tires, no damage at all...why does it keep pulling to the right when I hit speeds of 60+? Anyone else experiencing this? Drives straight but when I speed up it seems to jolt to the right a lot. Really frustrating especially in heavy traffic. :spaz:

Have you taken it to the dealer to see if you have an alignment issue?

Yes, you'd likely see that in your tires, but don't dismiss it.

The audio on 11 thing happened once - it's actually the volume for the navigation announcer girl. Reset audio on yours.

Sorry, but how do you reset the audio?

When this happens is your phone locked or is it unlocked?

Not sure if it is the same in the ex but on mine I hold the audio power button for a few seconds until it asks to reboot.

My phone is plugged in through USB cord and I'm driving so it's sitting there in locked mode. And I can't seem to turn it up past 11. It happens quite frequently so it wasn't just a one time thing. Thanks!

I've had this happen 2-3 times since I've had the car. In one case it was bug with my iPhone, car play thought the phone was unlocked when it wasnt... The other was a bug with the built in navigation. If its happening frequently I would reset the the head unit, if that doesn't work, I would try to make it reproducible and take it in to the dealer.

Yes it's so frustrating. I've also had days when my navigation on the dash shows only one half of my screen and my back up camera is on the other half of the dash screen. Like a 50/50 split between camera and navigation yet I'm driving Normal on the highway.

To my knowledge, you aren't supposed to be able to even use the backup camera when not reversing. I would suggest talking with your dealer. Something doesn't sound right. Possible issues could be that the software needs updating, the head unit needs a full reset, or possibly replacement.

I've also had problems with the "navigation" taking over the volume control, even though I don't have built-in navigation and Apple Maps isn't running in the background. I've yet to find any consistency as to when it happens, although -- knock on wood -- it hasn't happened in the last few weeks. Usually if I lock my phone (i.e. press the power button once so the screen shuts off) the volume would go back to normal. That's fine, except I like to have my phone open with Waze running.

The only solution I've found is to restart the phone. I haven't tried restarting the car's audio unit as some have suggested, so maybe I'll try that next time, as it would be easier than restarting the phone while driving.

In another thread, I mentioned that this would sometimes happen when the right-turn camera was engaged, though not always. I disabled that camera a few weeks ago, so maybe that's why this stopped happening. But again, I could find no reason why it only happened some of the time.

I've reset my audio system As of this afternoon and so far so good but I'M worried it won't last long. I'll see what happens and I guess I'd take it in to have it updated or checked. It's a shame too :( . I haven't pin pointed exactly when mine acts up either so it's difficult to tell what triggers the glitch. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Worst case scenario you might have to take it your dealer and ask them for assistance like the other person mentioned. Sorry that it happened to you!

I've had some issues with the audio system but not the audio volume 11 issue. I have had an issue where when disconnecting my iphone 6+ while Apple Carplay is connected the system will reboot or freeze and not be able to reboot with holding down the audio power button for 5 seconds. The only way I can restore it is plugging the phone back in and then rebooting the audio afterwards.
