Really just a question of your budget. The $449 V1.2 offers the same tuning abilities as the $649 V2. The V2 is great if you don't have a laptop and allows you to lock and unlock right from it's touchscreen. The programmable LED's are a cool feature too.Quick other question too. KTuner v1.2 vs v2 for a hatchback sports?
I want the tune but my tires only have 6,400 miles on them. Feel like it's wasteful buying new ones. Do you think I could get away with stock tires and a tune for awhile? Eventually would like UHP A/S tires with better grip. I imagine with the FT 140's and a tune I'd have to be more cautious driving on slick roads.Really just a question of your budget. KTuner has boost by gear option with base tunes? How does that work with a CVT?I'm still on the factory tires too because I have less than 11,000 on them. I have some Nokian zLine UHP tires in the basement I'll put on down the road. Do you absolutely need grippier tires with a tune? No, but it really depends on how you drive.
You certainly have more power with a tune but you always have the ability to control the power with your foot.
I mostly drive highway and city with the occasional fast on ramps. I enjoy the extra passing power on the highway and the confidence I have that there is just minimal lag in the city. I'm doing this all on the stock Firestones for now and having a blast.
I can only remember one time at high speed that the power overwhelmed the tires. Of course, you can't go flooring it from a stoplight all the time but from a rolling start, it's awesome. Plus you always can set up boost by gear to reduce wheelspin.
Hi gtman,That 33 psi is meaningless really. All it means is by default, BBG is disabled.
