There’s a lot of signal people out there and the coupe is practical some said they don’t need a rear seat
When I sat in the hatch back and sedan I put the seat all the way back and to the lowest setting I didn’t have the leg room then the coupe I’m 6’ 5 I’ve sat in mustangs and camaros and I have more leg room in the civic coupe

When the SI coupes came out, to me they were butt ugly. And since that time, they've grown on me tremendously, particularly the rear wing. It's like first listening to a new album from your favorite artists and you're like "meh this is ok". Then after about 5 more listens you're like wow this is good. Funny how that happens.

the civic coupe is the best looking car out there from the Lx to Si and the new sport trim
All I read is sedan and hachback . Is coupes really dying honda is still keeping the civic coupe
They did drop the accord coupe that was a great design too the civic type r is a great looking car
But I still think it should be a coupe
I was initially set on buying a BRZ, so I came to terms with the compromises of only having 2 doors (albeit the civic coupe is still 10x more practical than the BRZ).
I actually put a firm offer into one stealership, and the dumbass tried to play games after initially agreeing to the price. So I went to another stealership and bought the sedan. About a week later the initial guy selling the coupe called back and said he would accept my offer if I was still interested, so I told him to pound sand.
Overall, I'm very happy with the sedan. I feel like if I had bought the coupe, I would be a lot less likely to start putting money into the car by modding it, as I have aspirations to get a family going in the next few years. So at least if I start putting money and time in my sedan, it'll be in my life longer than the coupe.

First off, the Civic Type R should ALWAYS be a Hatch. It was never a Coupe and should never be one.

Second, I personally chose the Coupe because my wife and I had another 4 door sedan that we used as the family vehicle and seating wasn't an issue. I had a hard time choosing between the Sedan and Coupe, but ultimately it came down to looks. I just liked how the Coupe looked more than I liked the Sedan. I thought they looked aggressive as all hell when lowered.

In my area, I rarely see Coupes, let alone Si Coupes. I can even rank the order in which I see the different trims.
  1. Sedan
  2. Hatchback
  3. Si Sedan
  4. Coupe
  5. Type R
  6. Si Coupe
I see freakin' CTRs more than Si Coupes in my area. With all this factored in, I was set on the Coupe. Now, I constantly get people looking at it and they all say the same thing; "Damn, the Si Coupes are nice!" :headbang:

I'm looking for an Si sedan & they are tough to locate around here, most dealerships have coupes on hand. I sort of need the sedan since I have two kids, one of them still uses a booster seat.

You could look at it from the demographic with interest in the Si as it has aged. When the first Si Civics came out, they were 2 doors. True hatches at first, an introduction as a coupe, back to a hatch, and finally the coupe and later sedan. Those first Si drivers were more than likely single and had no interest in a 4 door car. However, as the brand matured, so did those Si drivers. Now, as we are getting older, we can appreciate the benefit of having 4 doors. Another thing is that now that my car is primarily used just for me to drive to work, and my wife's Pacifica is the family carry-all, I am again considering a coupe. Will I get one? Maybe, maybe not. I am thinking about wait until 2020 to see what Honda has up its sleeve with the return of the Type-S. I think the coupes look great. Other people probably still see it and think, "it's just a civic". 8th Gen truly broadened the Si demographic, IMHO.

I'm in Socal too, and I can confirm this ranking. And it progresses fairly linearly 6 through 2, but then number 1 goes off the charts.

Love my Si coupe. I'm all for practicality, but I have a Jeep and this was just for solo commuting.

1- Best looking Civic ? Not in my opinion. All Civic have something different.
2- Four doors, it more useful for me.

I feel for most people it is based on practicality. I drove my 08 si coupe for a decade but as i got older, priorties changed when it came for a new car. I went with the hatch just because i needed more space
Pretty much this. Coupe is less practical, therefore has a smaller market. I think most people prioritize usability over looks.

I know I'm in the minority here, but personally, I prefer the sedate look of the sedan to the coupe so in my mind, I got the better looking car + adult friendly back seats and slightly larger trunk with only a 17lb weight penalty for the same price as the coupe.

I was going to buy a coupe but I felt like I had more room in the sedan, even though the measurements are the same...plus resale is always higher on sedans and I didn't want to have to trade it in if I got someone pregnant

The only pro the Civic Coupe has is looks/sportiness. Otherwise, its really not all that practical.

I wanted an Si coupe. But I have kids.. and carpooling sometimes.. and well.. I wasn't going to put up with a lack of 2 doors when i could have the same car/performance with 2 more doors, so I went with the "grown up" sedan.

On the "con" list for the coupe of course, is the longer doors in tight parking confines as well as the obvious rear seat access restrictions.

Coupes, as mentioned, are somewhat an indulgent proposition.

I said CIVIC Type R not Integra Type R.

Even if they came out with a new Integra/RSX, the Integra Type R should always be a 2-Door Lift-Back/Notch-Back.

For me it’s a matter of feng shui. I don’t feel good in cars with an even number of doors.
So it has to have a door or hatch in the back. Then I don’t like around me any spaces that are poorly accessible, even if I don’t have to sit in them. (I won’t buy a house with a crawl space either.) So the car has to have 5 doors, period.

Which means I wouldn’t buy a civic if there was no hatchback.
