So glad she is OK! It's amazing how localized the damage is on the rear. Looks like about everything broke right by the point of impact. I assume that's how it was designed to perform. No all performance involves 0-60 times. Cheers!

I was just going to say get an attorney don't just sit passively by and have the insurance companies do what they want. They will take advantage of you. Plus with this kind of impact she will have soft tissue damage from the force of that impact.

After working in a Hospital and specialized Orthopaedic practices for 23 years, and being married to an RN, I can offer this: if you haven't already, please get her fully checked out by an Orthopedic surgeon ASAP! Injuries from these types of accidents/impacts don't always manifest immediately, sometimes weeks, months & years later. Depending on what you learn medically, a consult with a good injury lawyer might prove prudent. I guess it goes unsaid, but any involved insurance companies will want you to sign off very quickly, please proceed with caution, and get good advice both medically and legally.

Just couldn’t scroll without having to make a negative comment huh? :what::mad:

My observation that’s what real jerks do!:doh:
Good thing shes safe!
Good thing the car did it job during the crash! Those pictures speak volumes of the carnage vehicles can do!

Maybe its cause your emotional at this time, but to virtue signal and preach to others about distracted driving just cause it finally effected you. Bad taste in my opinion. Thats exactly what Psychotic people who wanna take away your 1st amendment or 2nd amendment say.
You want bad taste? Take a good, long look at your own post.

comparing texting and driving to the 1st and 2nd amendment lol. Texting and driving has been proven to be more dangerous than drunk driving. Only a psychotic would say preaching about the dangers of distracted driving is a bad thing......Hopefully you never get hit by a distracted driver, and have to go through the pain of a year long rehab from the accident.

The husband of a colleague was just rear-ended in MA by a distracted driver. His entire work van's rear-end (he owns an HVAC company) was destroyed, and he's been in constant pain since the incident.

I can't tell you often I see fools texting on the local interstate highways. It's just not that important people. Put your damn phones in the glove compartment and DRIVE!

PS - would you like your commercial airline pilot to fly distracted? Of course not! And flying is much, much safer than driving. Use this as a metaphor - you're the pilot of your own car.

I find it interesting that in states that have instituted strict anti-texting laws while driving, there have been "unintended consequences". When texting was legal, idiots held the phone up in their line of vision, they could see the phone & the road, now illegal, they continue to text, holding the phone down out of view which requires them to look down away from the road ahead, in other words, despite being illegal, they are going to continue texting regardless. Can't quote them, but statistics are starting to show that the anti-texting laws have created an even more dangerous condition because the addicted texting idiots continue doing so while looking down and attempting to keep the phone out of view, and states that have enacted these laws are seeing texting-caused accidents actually increase. Texting has become an addictive lifestyle, these idiots are going to continue doing it regardless of consequences to themselves or others. Anti-drunk driving laws obviously don't stop drunk driving, so what's the solution? I do think that the penalties for texting while driving should be the same as those for drunk driving, and prosecuted with the same fervor, with the same fines and penalties. These addicts are killing & maiming people so they can visit their Facebook page, don't know what will stop them?:(

I have actually noticed this as well.
As someone who rides a motorcycle, I am always on the lookout for drivers who are trying to inconspicuously text, so I know to stay away from them.
This is a really good point though, people used to hold their phones in such a fashion that they could still see what was happening on the roads, now people try to hide it because of the severity of the punishments, and when they try to hide it, the roadway is not even in their peripheral vision because they are straight looking at their crotch.

To be honest I would prefer that my commercial airline pilot was actually flying. It's all fly by wire these days from what I understand, except for take-off and landing.

I haven't ridden my bike in years because I'm concerned about idiots merging into me.

I might have to put an '08 1000 RR up for sale with 1,500 miles on it.

I gave up motorcycles 15+ years ago, too many idiots on the road, I have 2 1-legged friends as a result of them being t-boned on bikes. Loved to ride, but the basic idea is, on a motorcycle, whether your right or wrong, you loose. I've been rear-ended twice, both times in new Civics, at the same yield sign, both times by young girls texting, neither were charged. Scares the hell out of me & keeps me from looking for a mint CB-350F. My new Touring Coupe will never see that intersection, twice burned, never again :spaz:

We're on the same page ... I'm pretty much done with bikes because I see an accident waiting to happen every time I get on mine.
