I have recently put in a sub and amp into my si coupe due to the stock subwoofer having horrible quality. i connected the positive wire on my stock sub to the R+ and L+ on the LOC, then used the negative wire and made one connection with the R- and L- on the LOC. i had some concerns on fall out in bass and for them not hitting hard enough, however the setup i have used is amazing and hits perfectly at every time it needs to. i wasn’t sure if this would work or not so i tried anyway and it works great. hope this was helpful!

Just curious what did you use to connect the remote wire? I'm trying to avoid having to splice anything into my stock head unit.

used the remote wire coming out of the LOC. I purposefully bought an LOC with a remote wire just to make sure that i wouldn’t have to tap into my head unit. most wiring kits also come with remote wire if the wire coming from the LOC isn’t long enough

I’ve had the car for almost a year and just recently put the 2, 10inch rockford fosgates into it and it’s almost like driving a whole new car audio-wise. definitely recommend getting rid of that junky stock sub

it was no very difficult and in all probably took me 3-4 hours to do it. i had no prior experience with any electric/wiring installations either. there is plenty of videos on youtube that help me grasp the concept of it and how everything works. honestly with how well everything worked for me i think anyone can do it

add-a-fuse under the dashboard for the remote wire if you dont want to splice anything on the stock radio

Nice, I used a basic loc for my subs and amp. The same setup from my 8th. I do have a problem though. When I turn my subs up to really knock. They actually start to f#ck up. Now I did total my 8th with that setup in it. So I'm going to check the wires inside the box to make sure it's all good.

Any pics of how you installed and or wired.?

And I actually spliced my remote wire into the factory sub power. Couldn't find a fuse in the box that would turn off power.

factory sub is a pile of garbling crap when you crank up the bass. have to keep it on super low so its not rattling and garbling. hated it.

I had this setup in my last two cars and finally installed it on my Si last week. Kicker 800W Amp, Audio Control LC2i (so i can retain stock headunit), and 12 inch JL Audio W6v3 subwoofer in ported box built to specs.

my car thumps so good.

How bad does the trunk rattle? Is there anything you can do to reduce it?
I'm 37 years old and want to improve the sound system but I do not want to be driving around with a buzzing trunk.

Mine don't rattle that bad , but I can't turn my shit up high. It sounds great a normal listening volumes.
But I would suggest some type of sound deadening material and a foam like trim for under the top deck .

The spoiler does rattle a bit but not bad

im 35 going on 18. i love me some bass. my trunk rattles some but its not bad. I have my amp and bass on the lowest setting and bass is pretty hard. i raised it up to mid way and everything rattled and my ears hurt. so i keep it all on low.

the car rattles regardless even with the stock sub.

but i recommend those getting aftermarket sub to remove the stock sub so you can allow bass to flow more thru the back thru that stock sub inlet.
