This is my first post so please forgive if not concise enough. These issues with the oil, can they be fixed? I just bought a 2019 SI and love the car and bought a Honda for the reliability factor. Was I wrong to think that?

you can't "fix" oil dilution. Its a natural thing with direct injection engines and always has been. You can limit it by not driving short distances without warming up the car and more frequent oil changes, definitely dont do 7500 or 10,000 mile intervals. The "fix" honda is doing is changing the way the car warms up to help limit dilution

Hi All,

Just letting you know I received a recall letter to get the dilution issue fixed. It states that after my civic gets fixed it will "heat up faster" after starting.

Alberta, Canada.

Cheers mates!

I just recently bought a '18 EX Hatch on Black Friday and I just got an appointment at my dealer (Bergstrom Oshkosh) for the 18-137 recall. They stated it would take about an hour and a half. Once I get back from the dealer, I will post the work that was done and fill you in on anything I find out about it. I live in Wisconsin so it looks like they are rolling out the recall for the "cold" states where this is more of an issue.

I don’t think this is a significant issue. If worried, maintain more frequent OCI and do some UOA to see how things are going. I think both are good to do anyway. People over on the CRV forums are freaking out but they are annoying generally. From what I have seen so far, I do not think this is that significant of a problem.
