Today I had an issue when I got to my car. I placed my hand behind the door handle like I always do and the door wouldn't open by itself. No noise no nothing, it scared me for a little bit and made me think I lost my keys, but good thing was I didnt, but it still didnt work. I had to manually press the unlock button for it to unlock. I got in and no problems, it started up normally. Then I parked it and closed the door and the car beeped multiple times as if I left my key fob in the car/ or it was running and the key fob was missing. And wasn't self locking after multiple tries, I checked all the doors to make sure they were all closed as well as the hatch, but nothing, just kept beeping, only thing that worked was to press the key fob to lock the door. Then all of a sudden I just worked...

So... just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this problem. I have no tints on the car only window visors, and it has been raining for the past few days but this is the first time I had this issue.

Possibly a weak battery? Should last longer than that and probably under warranty if it hasn't.

Same problem here. From time to time the door won't unlock until I use the key. The locking works all the time.

Yeah like commonly happens with Bmw's keyless entry it's a matter of time until water will penetrate through the handle, in the electronic circuits. Then the fun begins with doors self locking/unlocking by themselves. Or not being able even to do it through the remote. I had to option to configure my car without this garbage.

Why does Honda pushes this? If you have a free hand to grab handle then you should be able to push the fob button too.
Wait and see how much it costs to change this door handle.
Fancy stuff to impress acquaintances. Like the electric parking brake(wait and see how it goes when battery is discharged).

i never had this problem with my 2015 Si. And i actually like the keyless entry now that i have gotten used to it. Its just weird that it started acting up since then i havent had an issue. And find that it works better than the bmw keyless entry. either honda cut corners this time around as with some of their other cars, whcuh are having similar technical/electrical issues.

im pretty late to this post not sure if you have had the issue corrected or not yet. my best guess would be a faulty door handle. the keyless sensor is located in the handle itself. ive actually been seeing this issue quite a lot lately on the newer odyssey and crv, can lock/unlock with the fob and the keyless will work from the passenger side door and trunk, but not the drivers door. replacement of the handle has been fixing the issue, ive been replacing the rubber gasket behind the handle too. as stated above not sure if water/moisture is getting behind the handle and into the circuits.

Also late to this post, but I also started suffering form keyless entry glitch when I put my hand behind the door handle. FOB lock/unlock works but sensor behind the door handle was a no go.
I read somewhere in this forum that disconnecting the battery, let the car sit for a few minutes, and reconnect will take away the problem.
I tried this on my '17 HatchSport and can confirm that it works. After suffering from this door handle glitch/keyless entry, I disconnected the battery, let the car sit for a while reconnected. Started the car, let the computer cycle through again, took it for a 10min drive. Keyless entry behind the door handle works again!! BAM!!!!! WOOT and Cheers to those who discovered this fix! Thank you so much!!!

Question, those who have done the battery disconnect, is the fix permanent or did it come back?? the keyless entry glitch that is.

Nope, never got it fixed... it just went back to normal, but I kept getting the multi-beeping when i leave the car with my keys, it is supposed to auto lock with the 1 beep, but i get the multi-beep to let me know to manually lock the car. This usually happens in colder weather like 20-30F or if its wet out.

Never tried that yet, it just worked after I drove off and i guess the car warmed up? This glitch never happened again but as i said above just get the multi-beep.
